" @turbomonkey138: Give me a plain text editor and I'll be fine. "you will get used it it :(
As long as she's a much more fleshed out character than Zaeed (I doubt it). I was kind of disappointed that you couldn't really talk to Zaeed properly.
And I'm still waiting on my elcor squad member.

I worry about adding too many DLC squadmates. Because you start to wonder what they will do with all the party members from this game in the third game, and the fan-boys and girls will start rage wars on the ME forums.

If they keep going the way they are with DLC characters, the bond you have with them will be hard to maintain as there will always new team members to have to deal with.
Garrus will always be my 2nd in command :D
Not really interested in a new squad member, but Zaeed's loyalty mission was pretty awesome, so I'll reserve judgement.
Still would prefer new sidequests/weapons/

"This should be the last one. There are 11 characters right now if you include Zaeed. This last one would make 12 which would explain the "Dirty Dozen" trailer.
" @BibleDoctor said:As much as I worry about it I really enjoy the DLC Bioware has pumped out lately so i'm looking forward to it either way but I'd prefer to see some new armor, weapons, costumes, solar systems, just fun crap like that. Eventually a big expansion or something but no rush." I worry about adding too many DLC squadmates. In the actual Dirty Dozen, there is the Commander plus the Dirty Dozen.
So yeah, this will complete it.
Zaeed was Dirty Harry in space. You couldn't really talk to him but he has a ton of cool little stories to tell you. Besides, the Renegade ending of his mission is the best recorded kill in Mass Effect.
Zaeed's mission was great but I'd have preferred if he himself was more fleshed out like the rest of the team. I wanted to be able to talk to him like I did the others. He felt kind of a hanger-on although I did use him a lot early in my play-through. If Kasumi is more integrated into the game then I'll look to her addition as welcome, but if she's like him then her as a character means about as much as Ashley/Kaiden in ME2.
I want a Hanar character next and after that how about a Volus, a Rachni and double-duel-wielding Keeper. Also, I want a pet Pyjak (space monkey).
I didn't like Zaeed at first, but he really grew on me. Shame he doesn't have a dialogue tree like the other party members, but for a DLC character he still had a lot to say, and his lolayte mission was pretty cool. Looking forward to Kasumi as well.
Zaeed was such an uninteresting character to me. You couldn't have any proper dialogue with him and he didn't even have a recruitment mission. His loyalty mission was alright but it left a lot to be desired. Still, he was free so I can't complain too much. Hopefully this new character will be more fleshed out.
Ah well... I gotta say, Even Bioware can drop the ball sometimes. On the flip-side though, Mass Effect 2 is still a great game so I'm still happy with this finished and polished product. :-)
She seems about as generic a character as Zaeed. At least you can say they're consistent.. eheh.
...eheh.
You guys need to stop complaining.
I thought Zaheed was fleshed out. You couldn't do a convo wheel with him but he had an interesting background and he would tell you a lot of stories that gave you insight on his character. He had a great loyalty mission with easily the best ending scene out of all of them imo. He also had a lot of incidental dialog throughout the game. He was lacking the convo system, but I don't think it's fair to say he wasn't fleshed out.
As far as Kasumi being generic... every character in ME2 is generic if you don't go deeper than the surface:
Jacob = super loyal army guy
Jack = bad ass tatted up bitch
Miranda = rich arrogant ms. perfect
Zaheed = bad ass merciless merc
Thane = assassin with a heart of gold
Grunt = mindless killing machine
Moridin = quirky genius
Tali = dorky scientist with a heart of gold
Garrus = jaded soldier
Samara = wise old lady
All we know about Kasumi is surface level stuff so I wouldn't write her off as being super generic yet.
I liked the way you talk to Zaeed, it makes him seem more badass, like a guy who keeps to himself.
I also like that there is ONE character in the entire ME universe who can't be sexed, and who doesn't fucking care about telling me his entire life story at the drop of a hat.
He has plenty of voicework in the game, so I don't think the lack of a chat tree was laziness. I think it was an artistic choice.
A thief won't be the worst person to have on your team, and it makes sense that she would stay in the Starboard observation deck.
" Am I the only one that's not buying this? The part of the description that says "We don't know how" doesn't fit with the other character bios. Not to mention she sounds like my grandma and the picture is really, REALLY fake looking. "I believe it's already confirmed that she will be a DLC later by the devs. The info will come out soon, not sure how soon though. Is the info on that legit? I don't know if someone would take the time to edit audio just for a fake out, but then again people will do a lot of crazy shit on the internet.
While the character itself is confirmed, I wouldn't be surprised if the picture, dossier, and audio were all placeholders.
" @BibleDoctor: Well, we did just get a new piece of armor and a shotgun. One of the top suggestions on the Bioware forum is the ability to remove the helmet on the bonus armor sets. Personally, I can't wait to see what they do with the Hammerhead. It's hard to think they would invest so much time into a vehicle to only use it on one mission, so hopefully we'll see the return of Mako-like planet roving. "
I downloaded it, but I can't get that stupid email that tells me I got it.
To all the Zaeed haters, he actually does have a dialog tree. It's in the form of several items sitting around his room you inspect multiple times to hear the full story. Instead of saying, "lets talk about you" you just talk to him after every mission. I think what most people don't like is the way he flipped out on his loyalty mission without any sort of interrupt. Anyone who went paragon ended up hating him for being a little bitch and anyone who went renegade grew to love him as Dirty Space Harry.
Zaeed had plenty to say on the missions, a quality loyalty mission (higher quality than several of the others, particularly since they made it far more feaseable that you might actually lose his loyalty through role playing), and as Arch4non mentioned he had plenty to talk about in his cabin.
Why are people acting like a new character is going to dilute the franchise? If they want to give me a thousand new optional characters that only come with 50 lines of dialogue that's fine with me. Hell the story parts only take place on the ship, and new characters don't stop you from progressing storylines with old characters... This just gives you more people to take on missions. And a new loyalty mission. For free. Stop hating.
" @JoeRiccadonna: If you downloaded it, restart your game and check your armor sets and weapons. It should be in there already. To all the Zaeed haters, he actually does have a dialog tree. Anyone who went paragon ended up hating him for being a little bitch and anyone who went renegade grew to love him as Dirty Space Harry. "That's the thing. I fucking loved that character. Screamed Blade Runner. So much more could have been done. It's just a shame he had to die in my game, and that you pretty much only see the back of his head in the end cut-scene, and that's it.
