Don't recall seeing a single one in Mass Effect 2. Is their disappearance something story related, or have I just missed/forgot seeing them?

They are there, but I don't remember ever being able to talk to one. There is one working at the entrance of Afterlife in Omega.

You can talk to the merchant elcor on Omega. He is involved in a quest.

So there is, totally forgot about him.

Sucks that they're not as prominent in ME2 as they were in the first game. One of my favourite races in the Mass Effect fiction.

How many were there in the first game anyway? I can only remember one or two of them.

@CL60: Oh yes I remember him now ya. I forgot because I don't think there are any that are involved with a quest like in the first ME.

What I was wondering was, are there any Hanar that have dialogue? I loved that they seemed very alien in ME1, but they seemed pretty absent in this game. There are a couple on the Citadel, but they're silent.

I assure you they are not as prominent as you remember.  I've been playing through the first game to brush up on the fiction/build new characters and there are only two that you talk to, one of which is involved in a quest.  They are around, but not much... same goes with Hanar.

Pay attention to the ads on Illium. If you're a hanar fan, there's a hilarious treat for you.

There's a few around. Think you may have just missed them. :-) There is a merchant Elcor on Omega and a few standing around on the Citadel I believe, though you can't talk to those.

Are you saying you missed the Elcor Bouncer? He is pretty harsh on that human.

I thought it was kind of weird that there's NO hanar to talk to (whereas there were in ME1). This was especially weird considering you have Thane in the party....

The Elcor gag on the Citadel made me literally LOL.  Games have achieved that maybe a handful of times in 20 years.

The dialogue and humour in ME 2 may be the sharpest I've ever seen in a game.

There was a conversion between an elcor and an asari in a store if I remember correctly.

    It went something like:
Asari: What module are we getting?
Elcor: With confusion. I thought you knew.

If you guys remember anything about Hamlet performed by an all-Elcor cast in ME1 then don't forget to check the advertisement pillars on the citadel.
