For the few people that are still unfamiliar with this popular franchise, Metal Gear Solid is a Tactical Espionage Action Adventure game and in order to complete your objectives you'll need to use your stealth skills to pass through enemie lines undetected.

Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes, is a remake of Metal Gear Solid that was released for the Playstation in 1998.

You assume the role of the legendary spy Solid Snake, which was enjoying a much deserved retirement after saving the world a couple of times in the past, but now his services are needed once again, when a group of terrorists organized by FOX-HOUND members (Snakes old unit), has taken control of a nuclear disposal facility and threats to launch a nuclear strike if their demands are not satisfied.
Solid Snake must infiltrate the facility, investigate if the terrorists really have the means to launch a nuclear strike and if so, he must prevent them from launching the nuclear strike.
For those that played the original on the Playstation will notice that the plot hasn't changed, but this is not the only aspect of the game that was left untouched, The facility of Shadow Moses didn't change much after 5 years, only some minor details that were added, things like lockers where Snake can hide himself or hide enemy bodies along some other minor changes.

In terms of gameplay MGS: The Twin Snakes as a few improvements compared to the original, this improvements were all brought from Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty, Solid Snake can now hide inside lockers, aim in first person view, hang from ledges, drag and shack enemy bodies, use hold ups to get dog tags just like in MGS2: Sons of Liberty, performe rolling attacks and use corner view. All these new abilities make Snake's mission alot easier, but to compensate this, enemies have gotten alot smarter and harder to escape from, they are now more cautiosness when searching for Snake in Alert Mode.
Boss fights are still the high point of the game, Snake will face gunfighter, snipers, tanks and even hinds turning all of this fights into epic battles that you will most likely never forget.

Visually the game improved alot compared to the original, although its still behind of the Gamecube's true capabilities. With improved graphics came improved cutscenes, in general they look good, have nice dialogs and everything, but some of them are a bit to exaggerated with to many  special effects taken out of movies like The Matrix, this remade cutscenes doesn't bring anything new to the games experience.

In the sound department, voice acting is perfect all dialogs were remade using the latest tecnology which resulted in a much more clearer sound, also ingame sounds are nicely done with different weapons making different noises when fired, walking in different tips of floors, although the noise coming out of enemies when Snake is shoking them still sound a bit weird.
The soundtrack was big let down since they remade a huge part of the original soundtrack that was one of the greatest soundtracks on a videogame, and the result was really bad, since this new soundtrack doesn't bring the excitment and intensity of the original soudtrack.

In the end Metal Gear Solid The Twins Snakes is a very good remake of one of the greatest games of all time, but it fills like it was made a bit to soon, since this remake doesn't bring much to the overall experience.
For those that played the original, you won't find many reasons to spend money on this game, unless you want to experience the game with better visual and with new abilities.
But if you never got the chance to play this wonderfull game and you happen to own a Gamecube or a WII then you should definitly play this game, because its an experience you'll never forget.

My final score is: 3.5 STARS

That's one Solid Snake, alright... 0

Believe it or not, stealth action games haven’t always been around. Not until 1998 would the gaming world be set ablaze, with the now infamous Metal Gear Solid. The series itself spans the course of decades, and has since received both the praise and ridicule of many, due to its dialogue-heavy storyline. And just five years after its initial release, someone at Konami apparently thought it was a good time to release a remake of the classic tale—and thus Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes was born...

Terrible controls, bored voice actors and Ninjitsu Snakes OH MY! 0

Remakes seemed to be all the rage back in 2002-2005 what with a number of Final Fantasy remakes surfing throughout the rumor topics and of course the fantastic remake of the original Resident Evil. The success that came with the REmake also garnished another remake of an old ps1 classic. The original Metal Gear Solid released back in 1998.IMO and I'm sure alot of others too is that MGS was an incredibly revolutionary title that created a new standard for the story in games and how much effort sh...
