Metroid II: Return of Samus

Metroid II: Return of Samus is the portable sequel to the Nintendo Entertainment System classic, Metroid. Regarded by many as one of the best action games on the Game Boy, it was a solid follow up to the original.

Objects

Bikini

A bikini is a two piece swimsuit, usually worn by women, to cover the groin area and breasts. It does conform to the adage "less is more".
Charge Beam

Samus Aran's Power Beam upgraded to charge up and fire more powerful shots
Chozo Statue

An object made by the Chozo that often hold powerups for Samus to collect.
Egg

It's an egg. It can be eaten or thrown, or perhaps used in other creative ways, like bringing back the protagonist of a group of heroes who travels through time.
Energy Tank

An item in the Metroid series that increases Samus's maximum energy by 100 units.
Gun

Considered one of the most frequent and controversial implements of destruction in video games and real life, guns are devices that fire projectiles with explosive force.
Helmet

Whether it's worn for protection or style, helmets appear in various game genres.
Hi-Jump Boots

A power up in the Metroid series. It allows Samus Aran to jump higher in the air to reach heights that were previously unreachable.
Ice Beam

A well known weapon in the Metroid series that allows you to hit enemies as well as freeze them. Ever since, it has been recreated in most notably the Pokemon series.
Laser

A laser is a focused beam of light, invisible through the air without some other medium (such as smoke) to illuminate it. Lasers are often used in video games as part of a targeting system, or as an offensive weapon in their own right.
Latex

Latex is the word used to refer to natural latex rubber. Particularly, for non-vulcanized rubber products like latex condoms and latex clothing.
Lava

Lava is molten rock, usually from the interior of a planet, and in games is often used as a hazard to players, or as a visible gameplay-area boundary.
Missile

An explosive ordinance propelled by a rocket engine designed to blow an object to smithereens. A missile is often guided, in some way, to its target. For example; by laser, remote control, or computer/GPS.
Morph Ball

One of Samus Aran's more famous and recognizable suit functions, allowing her to roll into a ball to fit into spaces normally inaccessible.
Motion-Sensor Bomb

An explosive which, when placed, will detonate when someone gets too close to it.
Plasma Beam

Samus Aran's Power Beam upgraded to fire intense beams of heat.
Power Armor

Power armor (also referred to as a powered exoskeleton) is a form of full-body armor, that uses electronics and micromachinery to enhance the wearer's performance.
Power Suit

The signature outfit and most powerful weapon of bounty hunter Samus Aran, the Power Suit is a Chozo-made weapon of mass destruction.
Robot

A mechanical lifeform, typically exhibiting superhuman abilities, that can be found in games as either the main protaganist or as powerful enemies or allies.
Rock

Rocks are the hard objects found randomly scattered across the ground all over the Earth's surface. They're not good for much more than smashing stuff or being made into other things. Handily crushes Scissors but cannot defeat the mighty Paper.
Rubble

An often overlooked stalwart of many an RPG, rubble is commonly used to block your path in game levels.
Samus Aran's Gunship

Samus's Gunship is a hunter-class gunship that was custom built for Samus by the Galactic Federation shipyards of Aliehs III.
Spaceship

A spaceship is a vehicle capable of traversing the vacuum of space.
Spazer Beam

An upgrade that causes Samus Aran's Power Beam systems to split into two or more beams, covering a wider area. Not all Beam types are effected by the Spazer upgrade.
Spider Ball

An upgrade to Samus Aran's Morph Ball mode, the Spider Ball allows Samus to cling to magnetic tracks in order to climb walls and ceilings to reach otherwise inaccessible areas.
Spikes

Spikes are dangerous and often deadly obstacles that can line the floor, walls, or ceiling of any given room or passageway. The playable character is usually asked to circumnavigate these obstacles or suffer loss of life.
Spring Ball

One of Samus Aran's power ups. It gives her the ability to jump while in morph ball form. It is often not needed to complete the game.
Statue

A sculpted representation of a person or object, generally in bronze or stone.
Tentacles

No matter what game you're playing, if a bad guy shows up with these hanging from him, you know you're in mad kinds of trouble.
Varia Suit

Samus Aran's Power Suit upgraded to withstand intense heat.
