Amuro Ray is the protagonist of the original "Mobile Suit Gundam" series and "Char's Counterattack" movie with a supporting role in "Zeta Gundam". The electronics geek stumbles upon the Gundam, a powerful prototype MS, during a Zeon invasion of his home colony.
Anavel Gato is one of the primary antagonists in Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memories. The "Nightmare of Solomon" is fiercely loyal to Zeon's ideals.
Athrun is one of the protagonists of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and its sequel SEED Destiny. He is Kira Yamato's childhood friend, but the Bloody Valentine War pits them against each other.
Bernie is one of the main characters of Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. He is a young Zeon pilot that is sent to participate in Operation Rubicon.
The rival of Amuro Ray, Char Aznable is perhaps more famous than his opponent. During "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam", he joins the Anti-Earth Union Group as Quattro Bajeena and becomes a mentor to protagonist Kamille Bidan. His final appearance would be in a climactic showdown against Amuro in "Char's Counterattack".
Christina is a character from Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. She is part of the Earth Federation and is the test pilot of Gundam NT-1 "Alex," a mobile suit made to be used by Amuro Ray.
Domon Kasshu is the protagonist of Mobile Fighter G Gundam. The Gundam Fighter representing Neo Japan, he pilots the Shining Gundam during the Survival Eleven and the Burning Gundam (God Gundam in Japan) during the League Finals.
Puru is a character from Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. She is a Newtype who becomes obsessed with Judau Ashta, even defecting from Neo Zeon to be with him.
Emma Sheen is a character in Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. She was originally a member of the Titans, but after witnessing their cruelty, defects to the AEUG.
Gaia appears in Dynasty Warriors Gundam. He makes up one third of the Black Tri-Stars alongside Mash and Ortega.
The protagonist of After War Gundam X; he pilots the titular mobile suit and its successor, Gundam Double X. He quickly grows fond of Tiffa Adill after being hired to rescue her.
Hayato Kobayashi first appeared in the original Mobile Suit Gundam as the pilot of the Guntank. He would later lead the Karaba resistance movement in Zeta Gundam and Gundam ZZ.
Heero is the main character of Gundam Wing and the pilot of the eponymous Wing Gundam. He is calm, stoic, and determined.
Pilot of the ZZ Gundam, Judau Ashta was actually the first cheerful Gundam protagonist...and the first to do horribly in their initial fight. However, he improves vastly, becoming a major power in the First Neo-Zeon War.
Kamille Bidan, considered the strongest Newtype in the Gundam franchise, is the main character of Zeta Gundam and pilot of the titular mobile suit. A teenager full of rage, Kamille fights against the elite Earth Federation forces known as the Titans.
Kira is the protagonist of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and (arguably) Gundam SEED Destiny. He began as a Coordinator essentially forced into fighting for the Alliance, but afterward fought against both them and their enemy, ZAFT.
Kou Uraki is the protagonist of Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory.
Master Asia is an antagonist from Mobile Fighter G Gundam. The Undefeated of the East is Domon's instructor, not to mention the winner of the 12th Gundam Fight.
The main protagonist in the movie Mobile Suit Gundam F91 and pilots the F91. In Crossbone Gundam, which is set years after Gundam F91, Seabook is known as Kincaid Nau and pilots the Crossbone Gundam X-1.
Setsuna is the main character of Mobile Suit Gundam 00. After being raised as a child soldier, he becomes a Gundam Meister of Celestial Being. His Gundams (Exia, 00 and 00 Quan[T]) are melee-oriented.
Shinn Asuka could be considered the protagonist of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, though he comes into direct conflict with Gundam SEED's protagonists and thus could be considered a villain as well. He becomes orphaned during the previous series's Battle of Orb and joins the ZAFT Military.
Shiro Amada is the protagonist of Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. He's no Newtype, not even an ace; he's just an average Earth Federation soldier who falls in love with a Zeon pilot.
The protagonist in Mobile Suit Victory Gundam. Is 13 years old and rumored to be the great grandson of Char Aznable. Pilots the V2 Gundam
