I am a long time hater of this game. I have hated it since a few weeks after launch, and went so far as to sell it in early December. Now, I have received another copy of the game as a belated Christmas gift - and I am enjoying the hell out of it. I don't know if it's because i'm playing it just to show my appreciation, but i'm having a lot of fun so far and i'm not falling for the same kind of bullshit tactics. As far as I can tell, the 1887s have been totally ruined, and that is good enough for me. 
 
So my advice to haters is to take a long break from this game. It will calm you down and you will end up forgetting the things you once complained about. Any noob mistakes can just be attributed to not playing for a while, so you won't rage quit as much, and you'll come out of it a better player. The only thing I can't guarantee is that you'll enjoy the Brazilian maps, but it can't all be perfect. Give it a try! 

You only hate a game if you think about hating it actively. Otherwise why should you hate it? You would only say hey, it's just not for me.

I just don't like shooters in general. Way too many of them out there. Halo, Bad Company, Call of Duty, MAG, Resistance... they're all the same to me. Well, except Halo Single Player because I love the story, but that has nothing to do with MP.  
 
I like games like Half Life, Prey and The Darkness because they actually put thought into being different... and I'm talking about many aspects. I guess I'm just tired of the "War-time" shooter.

Another piece of advice would be to not play the game and move on with your life.

I'd say what you've experienced is a bit of an exception. Usually when people don't like something leaving it alone for a while and just coming back later doesn't mean they'll suddenly like it.

People only hate games that are popular. give it at most a few months, wait for whatever next big hate game is (my money is on Bioshock 2) and then you can enjoy MW2 for the good game that it actually is :3

I refuse to buy MW2 because the multiplayer has been ruined on PC >.< I hate the matchmaking system, less players, just end up playing less because you leave the lobbies when the crap map gets chosen and then get stuck into a match only to get a GAME OVER as soon as you join.  "

Usually I don't play online shooters that much, but I do play this game all the time. Don't know why, really. There is so much wrong with it. All the knife-only people running around like idiots, ridiculous camping, all the disconnect issues that have become worse lately and so on. Yet, I love it and keep playing it...

The first MW I bought nearly a year after it was out and ended up selling it a few weeks later. The problem with the MP in it is if you come in late the barrier to entry is insane. It basically asks anyone new to suffer through weeks of being murdered til you can finally unlock any equipment that will help you fight back against the people who have been playing forever. While MW2 isn't that bad (maybe since I got in earlier) there is still that level of banging your head against the wall for hours to get anywhere that you have to put up with to really make any headway. That's what I find frustrating.... plus the single player was really lacking...

Play it for fun.  
Don't take it seriously. 
Stop hating video games.

Until I get my goddamn dedicated servers, I'm hating on IW.

i pick it up every now and then and just try to tell myself that most people will be better than me at it but as long as i shoot a few manz then i will be a happy camper.  and it works out most of the time.
