I play on my 27" standard low res tv and sometimes I really wish I had an HD one. So tempted to get one. Am I the only one in the world who doesn't play HD?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Game » consists of 22 releases. Released Nov 10, 2009
The sequel to 2007’s wildly successful first-person-shooter Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 continues the story of American and British soldiers fighting Russian ultra-nationalist forces.
Do you play MW2 in STD or HD?
How anyone could ever play a current gen game on an SD TV is beyond me. I've tired it, it makes everything look like it was for the PS2. I use a 1080p. And no, they're not expensive.
If any people posting on here are actually playing in SD, maybe they shouldn't have bought MW2 and saved that cash for a decent TV or hell, a flatscreen monitor. Seriously, people need to get their priorities straight.
(And maybe they should get off their lazy asses and get a job!)
" As far as HDTV's go, mines small (32"), but it's 1080p and I like it. "Hardly small, I had one that size in my room for some time, it over shadows the 22" one next to it.

You guys DO realize the game is only 600p on consoles, right?

So brag all you want that your "1080p is superior" while really it's stretching.

Although I'm one with the luxuries a lot of my friends can't afford it in college ATM :P
I'm on an HDTV that I borrowed from my grandmother like a year ago. What's she going to do with it? I'd be boned if I wasn't lucky enough to have gotten one for free, because I am FLAT broke.

"The only HDTV I can afford would be way smaller then my SD one, so it'd seem like too much of a downgrade for me to be bothered spending money on.
HD 1080p.
I feel your pain, simply because I know that even on HD it can be hard to pick out targets.
I would never beable to use a SD TV now a days, I bought a 22" 1080p monitor for $199 Canadian, there really no excuse not to get one.
" My Xbox 360 is hooked up to a 19" LCD monitor, and I play MW2 on that. Can't tell you much more than the fact that it runs at 1440 x 900, and widescreen. Looks good enough to me. "Wait you can do this? Does it eliminate the really rough SD-edges effect/make text readable? If so, I may hook my xbox up to monitor for single player, then swing it round onto the giant SD for split screen.
" Modern Warfare 2 gave me an STD. "@Toope said:
" Given the millions of people who've purchased the game, I'm certain at least a few of them have STD's. "Nobody noticed these?
Haha. Anyway, I play it on my PC.
" @Karmum said:If you're asking if you can hook your X360 up to a monitor, you can. You just need to grab the right cables (i.e. don't buy the official ones for $40), and buy the cables for sound and you're good to go. About visuals / text: I have no idea. I have no problem reading the text, but it helps when you're really close to the screen, too. I haven't played an Xbox 360 game on a SD TV in a long time, so I'm not aware of "rough SD edges/effect."" My Xbox 360 is hooked up to a 19" LCD monitor, and I play MW2 on that. I use HD, and now that I look at SD it looks like absolute garbage, I can barely see anything anymore
" @MysteriousBob: It is like we have money just laying around to go use to buy a decent tv and spare dollar is used on something needed and not superfluous. . You stuck with what you got until you get lucky. "There are many options to playing on a screen that is HD. PC monitors for example that had HD screens you can get for about $150. That's the equivalent of two new games. There's also inexpensive smaller actual HD TVs. I would argue it is affordable if you get creative. :-)
Personally, I play on a 720p 32" HD Vizio. I like it, a lot. 720p is very good, quite happy with it.
No problem, was ready for this. These are the cables I used, and I know for a fact that the 360 VGA cables will work no matter what." @Karmum: Could you point me in the right direction and tell me what cables I'd need? This definitely sounds like something I want to try. "
Xbox 360 VGA Cable -- Monster discount over what Microsoft sells it for ($39.99!), $7 or so plus a few dollars of shipping is a steal.
3.5mm Stereo Splitter Audio Adapter, 6 inch -- $3 isn't bad at all. I use two computer spakers for sound, and they work fine. I have no idea what you use, though. If you have computer speakers, this should work fine. Plug red with red, white with white, and the speaker cable (what you'd plug into a computer) in the last and final slot.
MonoPrice lives up to its name. Had great service from them and CableOrganizer.
