One of the goriest fighting game franchises returns to its roots, introducing a new story that re-tells the events of the first three Mortal Kombat games (with a unique twist).
But the question is who? Both Sony and Nintendo have a buckload of interesting and fleshed-out characters who are memorable. Microsoft doesn't have anything. They have Master Chief, Conker and Banjo. I'd be very surprised to see a spartan in MK.
Steve Ballmer. He could have all sorts of moves revolving around his inhuman ability to sweat. Then his fatality is him screaming developers so loud that your head explodes. Then he eats your spleen. Because he's fat.

This makes the most sense, but I think anyone who believes the 360 is getting a charterer is fooling themselves. Maybe we might get a piece of exclusive DLC, but there won't be anything at or close to launch.

It seems the issue is that Microsoft doesn't have any characters that are memorable that could logically fit in Mortal Kombat's fighting system. I mean, Marcus Fenix is a logical choice, just because of the universe he comes from, but he doesn't look like somebody who'd punch and kick dudes, unless he's stomping their heads offs, or executing some other one-hit brutal kill move.
@Napalm: While so far Gears of War has been Xbox 360-exclusive, Microsoft does not own that IP. So yeah, I guess Microsoft is the most third-party dependent of the big three, when you think about it. They don't really have a lot to go for in their IPs.
I don't understand how everyone didn't automatically say Ryu Hayabusa whenever they saw Kratos. Hes got like 14000 different weapons, hes all melee, and hes extremely brutal. Hes perfect...

Except that there's no reason he shouldn't be in the PS3 version too.
For my two cents, you could get a few characters from the Fable universe that fit the bill like Jack of Blades, Reaver or Maze.
Also, if you could stomach more Star Wars characters in your fighting games, Revan, Ballista and everyone else from the Knights of the Old Republic series is fair game.
Technically, Munch's Oddyssey is a Microsoft exclusive, but I can't imagine Abe making an appearance in Mortal Kombat. Unless you played as the Shrykull...
You could also get the Crackdown agents, or even Chris Cashman.

Yes there is, considering he is almost a a xbox exclusive character and he would fit into the series more than any other character that could be considered a MS exclusive.
I don't want any! It may be hard for some to believe but I actually pre-ordered the X360 version cause I don't want Kratos in my game or on the cover art. These different world tie in's are wrong and just a cash grab in my opinion.
I don't know how others haven't said it yet, but the most obvious character would be Marcus Fenix. Not because I personally think he'd be a great choice, but Epic and Midway have worked together before and it makes potential sense. I can see it now, chainsaw fatality. I like that, characters Kratos and Marcus Fenix, both games have the same initials GoW. Plus, Gears of War 3's coming out this year as well, so it makes even MORE sense on top of that.
I'll revise my earlier request to play as pinata. You should play as the wheelchair guy from Viva Pinata, and throw pinata as your ranged. When the pinata are explode they are not full of chocolate, but acid.
@heatDrive88: There won't be anyone exclusive, but with the tone of the game I would say they should get a character from either Bulletstorm or Gears....also would be easy since they are already in an unreal engine game. But yeah, 360 won't have an exclusive character.
clearly the winner is Professor Pester and his range weapons would be throwing sour pinatas. His fatality would be walking slowly to your body and hitting you so hard that you explode into delicious candy.
