    Overview

Myrmidons are a sword-wielding class in the Fire Emblem franchise. Compared to other classes that wield swords they offer strong offensive skills geared toward a high critical hit rate. Myrmidons possess high skill and speed, but their lack of defense, health, and strength make it hard to protect them from strong enemies.

Like other Fire Emblem starting classes, myrmidons can promote to a higher class once the character has risen to a proper level. However, the promotion class tends to vary from game to game. The most common promotion class for myrmidons is the swordmaster class. However, myrmidons can promote to the hero class in Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu and Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. In Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones, myrmidons are given a branching promotion path and can become assassins.

In Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, myrmidons can promote to swordmasters and then further to a third-tier trueblade class, while in Fire Emblem: Gaiden, they promote to the third-tier demon fighter class.
