@artisanbreads: That said, does Nintendo have games with microtransactions right now (beyond mobile stuff) ? Would the Switch be the first Nintendo console to have games with them ?

They have a decent number of "Free to Start" games on 3DS which are pretty limiting unless you drop real money on them. Pokemon (Shuffle, Picross and Rumble World), Badge Arcade (if you're into that kind of thing which some people apparently are??), and Stretchmo was nothing more than a demo unless you bought level packs.

I'm much cooler with that kind of thing than this. It's basically just a new method of a demo and that's fine. This is like some arcade play to continue type shit. Maybe you can earn in game but regardless for a retail game that sucks.

According to Game Informer, the Nintendo Switch will support Micro SDXC cards up to 256 Gigabytes. The cheapest cards that size seem to retail at around 75 pounds. That kind of storage wouldn't be awful if most games on the platform remain in the 2-20 gig range. Depending, of course, on how fast download speeds are for when you need to re-download deleted games and so on.
