I went to Best Buy today to pick up some games, and one of the games I was looking for was No More Heroes. Oddly, it was not to be found...at least, it wasn't available as a standalone product. Instead, the only way No More Heroes could be purchased was to buy the No More Heroes/Red Steel package. I asked a couple of the dudes who worked there, and they said they don't have any individually packaged No More Heroes in stock.

So what's up with these shenanigans? Is No More Heroes No More Standalone?

Keep looking around places. There's no way they'd make it available only to new Wii owners.

    What?"
There's no way that they'd only make it available packaged with the Wii itself. I'm sure you'll find a standalone copy if you keep looking.

Can't you find a copy on amazon or some other online retailer. Chances are it'll be cheaper too.

I have a friend whose gaming habits are a casual as can be. He is always talking about how, back in the day, you could find a copy of SMB 2 on  the shelves of Toys R Us of from 1989 to 1994. I was angry that he couldn't find a copy of Rainbow Six Vegas 1 at Sears.

Coming from a retail experience, that industry has a very short term memory. I shop at Gamestop for their used selection, not their prices or policies. Where else are you going to buy a copy of Beyond Good and Evil (A game I bought when it was NEW, thank you)? If you Amazon copy doesn't work, what can you do? Write a bad review?

I'd rather not play the game than give GameStop any of my money. =/

Quick update. I went to Best Buy again, in the last couple days or so, and a different (and surprisingly friendly) employee told me that he's pretty sure individual packaging of No More Heroes is no longer being produced.

    Interesting, eh?

The game seems to be in stock individually in almost in every online store I looked. But meh, it's Ubisoft (at least in my region) so it's possible, I hope the sequel's not published by them. Wasn't it published by other companies elsewhere? Surely they don't also bundle it with a crappy Ubisoft game like Red Steel. Edit: Wikipedia doesn't list Ubisoft for the sequel, yay.

Probably to boost in place a sequel for both No More Heroes and Red Steel.
