If you, like me, still haven’t played Okami, Capcom is giving us another chance with Okami HD, scheduled for a release on PlayStation Network this “fall” for PlayStation 3.

Besides the high-definition bump, Okami will have support for PlayStation Move. You’ll still be able to use a controller.

I’ve never purposely passed on Okami, and I know how many great things have been said about it, but circumstances have worked against me...and the supposedly 40-hour playtime has always given me pause.

Maybe I’ll finally make the leap. Okami HD being only $19.99 helps, too.

God I'm looking forward to that. Okami was one of my favorite PS2 games ever and I was thinking about getting it for the Wii, then realized I never use my Wii haha.

YAAAAAAY, too bad I don't have a ps3. Okami was amazing on the wii even if the waggle was sort of messed up, just a great game, I should really finish it though.

Aside from having maybe one or two boss-fights too many, Okami was one of the best games I'd ever played. I do hope they make the controls a bit more lenient for the PS3 version considering how many people complained about them.

One of the best PS2 games out there in an already phenomenal collection of games. I will admit that the game is a bit too long for it's own good, they make you repeat some bossfights a few too many times for a game that's already tremendously lengthy, but it is oh so worth the ride through. I always felt like Okami was (and still is) the best "Zelda" game since Majora's Mask, with a much larger focus on the narrative (and that narrative is pretty fantastic).

I don't normally get excited for an HD port, but a beautiful game like this was practically begging for it.

It's an amazing game, one of my favorites, but I'll admit it is a bit too long. It took me a year to finish it because I thought I had beaten the game, only to realize there was a lot more to play. I needed a break. As time went on, I thought maybe it's not that great... but randomly one day I had the urge to finish it and did. I do love it.

I also spent way too much time fishing... but that's really my fault and can't blame the game for that. I don't know why I get hooked by fishing in games so much. I had about 80 hours total, and I think 20 of it was just fishing.

Same boat as Patrick as well. Never got around to it, and any 40 hour adventure tends to intimidate me nowadays, what with having a baby and limited play-times and all. I'm currently attempting to go through Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, another long game, and I'm wondering where I'll ever find the time to finish it.

Looking forward to giving this a go though! It looks fantastic in HD.

Patrick, you should really love this game. It was one of the best Zelda-like games before the release of Darksiders.

Actually, forget that, calling it a "Zelda-like game" is a disservice. Let's just say its one of the best adventure games of the PS2 generation.

It was a legal problem that prevented them from using the original credit roll right? If that was the case and the legal problem was that big of an issue, I doubt they'll resolve it for this release. (Why they couldn't just make a new one and remove the copyright infringing portion, I'll never know - but I'm not a copyright lawyer).

To be fair, the credit sequence to Okami gave us a pretty damn beautiful montage of the journey with a great vocal song behind it. One of the rare occurrences where you really want to watch them.

I do sympathize with everyone else, they really need to make sure the credits make it back in.

I put nearly 60 hours into it first time through, it's such a wonderful game. I'm totally going to buy it although I had an Okami-ish fix with Okamiden, which unfortunately was made on the most unsuitable system for that type of game. I'm not going to draw on my tv this time around to do those stone block puzzles.

Yeah, I tried it few years ago and couldn't even get through that first 15 minutes cutscene. This all Oh ahh huhu eh.. voice was one of the reason. Then I tried it again few moths later and forced myself to try the gameplay and didn't like it either. I will remember this game forever.

Amazing on ps2. Liked the idea of wii controls, worked fairly well, dodge controls were complete shit(move the nunchuk in a cardinal direction to dodge that way? Never actually worked correctly, but the game is easy and dodge not really something you had to do) but I did miss the harsher rice paper look overlay from the ps2 version. I think I might just stick to the controller for this, I don't have move anyway, though I was stoked for the wii version years ago; I think I just want this again, in hd and widescreen and am hoping the overlay makes it fully intact this time.

I think it's showing what the PS2 version looks like on a 1080p television. No way the PS2 version on the correct television was that blurry.

Okami was an absolutely phenomenal game from start to finish. The 40+ hours to finish thing isn't wrong either, it's definitely that long. But it's worth it.

    Dear Capcom,

If you fuck with the staff credits again, I will never buy a product of yours for as long as I live.

I never bought that whole Clover logo excuse. It seems ridiculous:

"We have no legal right to use the Clover logo in a game they were not involved with directly," said Seth Killian, Senior Community Manager at the Capcom Bulletin Board System. "We also didn't have the source to the credit movie itself, so we couldn't just use it and remove the Clover logo."

...it makes no sense at all, on so many levels, that even a junior paralegal in intellectual property law will tell you it sounds completely made up.

As excited as I am for this, I have to agree. That's mainly why I passed on the Wii version.

Wait. I feel like I missed something. What happened with the credits in the Wii version?

They cut the original credits sequence and the epilogue that was to follow.
