Hey, I know someone has already asked this already but I need your help. I basically know nothing about graphics cards except that the more money you pay for a graphics card probably the better it is going to be.

What card would you guys recommend that could play multiplatforms better than on the 360? Or, what is just overall a good card for a good price?

    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks. :D

    I built it...

    Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+
Card name: ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO (Current Card)
    I have a 500 Watt Power supply.

Anything else you need to know?

I don't really have a budget because I plan on saving for it. :/

I wouldn't get the 4870. I'd get two 4850's in Crossfire. It's the best graphics card setup on the market, in price vs. performance - FACT.

Ask 10 PC hardware enthusiasts, 9 of the 10 will give you that answer.

With it, you should be able to play all games at 1900 x 1200 (1080P) or higher, max settings, AA. Except for Crysis >_>

You need a special motherboard that supports crossfire. The Nvidia equivalent is called SLI. It basically requires you to add a bridge between the two graphics cards (each of them in their own slot), and this produces almost twice the performance.

I'm currently rockin' a single GeForce 8800gt 512mb.  I got it back when they were like $250, but I'm pretty sure they're almost half that now.  With your setup you'd be able to run everything.

Well the 4870 and 4870X2 are great cards, but I wouldn't just recommend those 2 cards, there's plenty of Nvidia cards that perform up to par.

    EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 896MB

    EVGA GeForce GTX 280 1GB

    EVGA GeForce 9800 GX2 KO 1GB

These are great cards and seem to be on par and even outperform the 4870 on real-life benchmarks (not those crappy in-game synthetic benchmarks). If you want the 4870, there's nothing wrong with that, it's a great card and great peformance but just know that there's other cards that outperform it in game performance. Whatever you choose these cards will "t-bag" xbox 360 graphics all day, lol.

EDIT: One last thing I would like to mention is buy a video card with more than 512MB. Games now-a-days need more memory for large tectures and so forth.
