@Geno: I dont remember the textures in Alpha Protocol being that good. Or do you have some kind of texture pack installed? It's just vanilla. UE3 works really well with supersampling AA, which is what I used. The supersampling effect works on the AF as well, which is why the textures look a lot cleaner.
Some good ones from The Witcher 2:

@Seedofpower: It was a ranked 3v3 from a long time ago.
Must have been some match to have that many supers out.
Wish I had taken some screenshots but my word, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands can look absolutely stunning at times. Really, really impressed with what I was expecting to be an entirely mediocre game. And for $5 on the Steam sales no less.
Probably my favourite POP game since Sands of Time from what I've played so far, even if the controls occasionally leave something to be desired, specifically in combat.
@BeachThunder: Goddamn I still do love the way that game looks.
@1337W422102: Haha I don't know why but that looks like a dude from that angle....... Wait.... Is it a dude? 0.0Nope. It's not a particularly good shot of her, and I'm not too pleased with the character I made. I'll grab some more the next time I play. My Saints Row 2 Faith came out better, though.
@1337W422102: No its a good attempt :D I guess the models in APB are just a bit too muscular. The Saints Row 2 model is good though. Thanks! I'll keep trying. At first, the APB character looked too scrawny, now she looks too beefy. I'll keep trying.
@Geno: I just want to thank you for reminding me how fucking awesome AP is on PC.
It just looks and runs so good.
Edit: Oh yeah and it's a really fun game too. Play it y'all. Spec'd in stealth and pistols. So much fun.
If it's the latter, what hardware are you running and how many SS samples? What kind of framerate do you normally get running it that way?
My current system has GTX 275 SLI for graphics; I get a fairly even 60fps in most UE3 games with 2x2 SSAA. In terms of modern GPU hardware it's roughly equivalent to GTX 580, if you're looking to buy. Though, a GTX 570 should also be adequate due to the larger VRAM and more optimized shader pipelines.
In case you're interested, most Source games play well with supersampling as well, making the graphics look a lot closer to the CGI quality you see in Valve's promo videos. For example, here is a Mexican standoff situation I managed to capture in L4D, with 4x4SSAA (more evident if you view it full size):
It's kind of variable though; TF2 is another game that looks amazing with supersampling, but L4D2 somehow looks awful with it. It's not really a supported setting which is why you need to trial and error with it.
I think 3x3 is probably the most optimal for a 1920x1080 monitor in terms of visuals/performance ratio (as the difference between 3x3 and 4x4 is completely negligible, whereas you can still see some better AA compared to 2x2), but you'd need something like GTX 590 for that.
I never had a chance to play the original APB, so I'm not sure how different newschool free-to-play APB is. But it's still really unoptimized and has ridiculous system requirements. A lot of folks have been complaining about the steep requirements, and apparently a less demanding client is coming. Wait, didn't they say that back before original APB closed? Huh. Anyway, I'm having a lot of fun with it, despite it not running so well. It's in the open beta phase of its free-to-play relaunch at http://www.gamersfirst.com/apb/ so check it out if you'd like and kick some ass!@1337W422102 said:
Shit, totally forgot about APB: Back from the dead edition. How is it? Any different, or better now?
I got into the closed beta back in like, April but I never installed it.
Here're some more Saints Row 2 screenshots I grabbed last night. I accidentally fell into SR2's Blue Hell:
GTA IV with iCEnhancer 1.25 and some modded config settings. Make sure to view the pics in their full resolution.
