So I just built a new PC (mostly for SW:TOR). What other games do you duders recommend to underscore the benefits of PC gaming? Mind you most (if not all) AAA releases in the last year I've completed on 360. Obscure may be the order of the day.

The PC (Personal Computer) is a highly configurable and upgradable gaming platform that, among home systems, sports the widest variety of control methods, largest library of games, and cutting edge graphics and sound capabilities.
Singular PC experience.
Battlefield 3 is great!
Trackmania 2 is also great
Great is how I would describe the Witcher and the sequel.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games have been called great but not by me just yet.
Brad certainly thinks Starcraft 2 is great.
To be slightly more obscure I recommend Thief: Deadly Shadows. It's pretty great.
There is so much to choose from! Knowing what kind of game your looking for would help a lot too. You can always wait for the next steam sale though and then you can just buy everything.
@salad10203: I spent a good afternoon with Boone's MIDI translator converting Hex to Binary for a cheap MIDI controller I picked up at Guitar Center. It's not so much a matter of being PC-centric, so much as that the console has a couch and REALLY big screen going for it. Singularity, Hard Reset, and Stronghold 3 all have my eye. Blizzard owes me Diablo 3 at launch (paid for a year of WoW upfront). Painkiller was good, but that was 4 PC's ago, and Bulletstorm was more of the same.
Photoshop
3DS Max
Steinberg Cubase
Premiere
... what? Oh games.
I highly recomend Battlefield 3 for some casual (or hardcore. Anyway you swing) multiplayer chaos. Also Starcraft 2, Team Fortress 2 and The Witcher. Most PC games tend to be pretty damn time consuming so only pick a few, for starters. I don't buy many games but I go back and forth periodically between the few games I have.
The Witcher 1 and 2
Total War Series specifically Shogun 2
Civ 5
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat
Starcraft 2
Dungeon Defenders
Magicka
Terraria
The Binding of Isaac
Bit.Trip.Runner
Jamestown
Cave Story +
There are tons of games to play for PC. Just browse the Steam store and GOG. You should be set after that.
Civilization V, The Witcher 1/2, Dragon Age:Origins, Terraria, Torchlight, Magicka, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Puzzle Agent
That's all I could think of from the top of my head.
What sort of games are you into? With Steam, Origin, GoG, and the various Indie Bundles, you can pick up a surprising variety of games on the super-cheap.
Since you've got a PC, you need to play Minecraft, though.
Also in the same boat as the OP, only I'll have my new pc up and running in the next couple of weeks so a great list of recommendations here. The Witcher 2 has really caught my eye mostly. Do people recommend playing through the first before the second to get the full experience or does it not really matter?
Don't know if you have played the Dead Space games yet, but they pretty good and are $5 each on steam right now. Just make sure you have a gamepad handy or things could get ugly.
Sunjammer's list is fantastic...
I'll also add Panzer Corps, Tropico 4 and I'll second Dudy80's Warhammer Dawn of War II and GOG classics like Planescape Torment. Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory are also older but worth checking out. Don't be afraid to try some stuff never heard of on console.

System Shock 2. Not to mention that mod community has some really sick mods for this game. You also get to see where Bioshock came from.
Is there anyway to legitimately get this game anymore? I've never seen it for sale anywhere and I'd like to try it.
I am a console gamer who upgraded my PC over the holidays to play games so I'll tell you some I've found to be good so far!
Trackmania (You can get Nations United Forever for free just to try it)
The Binding Of Isaac
Starcraft
Civ V
Counterstrike
Half-Life 2
Sins of A Solar Empire
Terraria
Magicka
Company of heroes
Amnesia
Not sure if you meant you were gaming on PC before so included a few older games that are seen to be "essential" for PC.
Enjoy!
