Yes for me, I sold my 360 with Mass Effect and GTA IV to help get it.
I decided a while ago, when GT5 was close to coming out, I'd get one. Now I've learned Gran Turismo 5 will be Q4 2009 so I think this is the right time. I could not wait any longer!
My gold subscription was close to running out as well, and now I don't have to worry about paying for online right?
Will I miss GTA IV DLC? I don't mind. GTA IV's main storyline wil suit my very well. I'll get the PS3 version now and play it for the 5th time hehe.
Mass Effect 2 I'll miss, but GOW3, Little Big Planet, GT5 and replaying GTA IV should help me get over it ^_^

After seeing the poor performance with bluray loading on the slim, no, unless that is patched later on. I'll stick to my ps3 fat because i watch all my bluray on that machine.

No, I have my nice old-school PS3.

Yep, i'm getting one tomorrow on the UK release.
 
It's my first PS3 so am currently trying to decide on some games to pick up.
 
So far opting for Motorstorm 2, LittleBigPlanet, MGS4 and possibly the new Batman.

BUT, if I didn't already have it I'd definitly buy the Slim one. Not necessarily because of the new model, but because of the price.

the slim has brought me closer to a PS3 but Im not quite there.Having no interest in MGS4, LBP it has some cool stuff but its platforming is so bad ,Killzone 2 or Resistence makes it difficult.

I already have the classic PS3 (with backwards-compability, yo!), so no.
 
It sounds/looks awesome though.

From what I hear the Blu-Ray drive is only seconds slower (G4 Link) but thats not enough for me to knock it. I could care less if it takes a few more seconds to load a disc as long as I get to watch it but I heard a rumor about no component cables which would really piss me off and I hope it's not true. I know there is no HDMI but it would be really cheap of them not to include components.

No, I got a great PC and a 360 and the PS3 is too expensive. The 360 elite costs 2590 sek while the PS3 Slim costs 3490 sek.
Edit: That's 126 usd more than the elite...

No, because I already have a 60gb launch model that still works fine. If it breaks, I'll get it repaired because I can't live without the bc.

Yes, I will be getting one, probably in the near future before the end of this year. The reason I waited until now is simply price. There are only a handful of exclusives on the PS3 that I really wanted to play, and none of them seemed to justify the higher price tag. $300 seems reasonable though for what you're getting.
