Hello folks how the fuck are ya?

For the last 4 months my Red Dead Redemption disk has been trapped in the shell of a once great Playstiation three, Sadly this Playstation lost it's will to live and committed Seppuku as I was playing RDR, The failure was so great that I could not eject the disk, Well today my friends is a day where I could not tolerate it anymore,

Why did it take 4 months you ask? I am lazy and I didn't really care, but I had an itch to play RDR and that propelled me to grab it with both hands and tear it apart.

Picture of the PS3 without the hard drive, I did not have the small screw driver so I used force and a medium screw driver to access it,

The bowels of the PS3, After taking the cover off my next step was to gently and carefully take apart the Blu Ray drive.

Well... when I say carefully I mean using my screwdriver as leverage and busting the damn thing open.

Opened Blu ray drive, top bits ripped out by hand.

I ripped out the plastic cover to get to my RDR disk,

The result and tools that I used to great effect,

So next time you want to get rid of some stress...break a PS3, it's the ultimate solution.

Well, at least you got the disc out.

You should gut that PS3 and turn it into a grill. Like on YouTube. George Foreman would be proud.

Happened to me with a friend's game when my PS3 broke (I sent it in and had Sony remove the disk), but next time I'm going to buy a Slim so I see this post as a useful protip if (who am I kidding... when) my PS3 dies again and a disk is stuck inside.

There's something about a gutted console and it's parts strewn about that just gets me all revved up.

I'd leave it in there, I have not played that game in months.
It was not a bad game but man it came and gone fast.

You should probably try to sell it for scraps. I'm sure someone out there would buy a faulty system just to have some spare parts in case of accidents.

Happened when I was playing Resistance 2 last year. The match finished, the screen stayed black and it caught the YLOD. Sad times. I owe my friend a Resistance 2 seeming 2 months later we were moving and my ps3 DISA-FUCKING-PPEARED!!! Damn YLOD.

... When you are poor and just starting work like I was 7 years ago, you can only afford shit stuff, stuff that breaks, often, so I just haven't thrown them away, why? I dunno...

I don't dare plug it into the wall and check, although, all I would need is a blu ray drive and a bit of glue to put the warranty sticker back on and I can sell it at EB games...
