I bought into 3DS when Zelda came out and I love it as a console but I'm still waiting for games that make me want to play. Finished Zelda and now just waiting for more. I think coming up to the holiday season I will be spending a lot of time with it.
As with any other game, I couldn't care less about reviews-- I've played a lot of games that I thoroughly enjoyed and that were bashed in reviews, while also very much disliking quite a few praised games out there. A review is just a personal opinion. And my personal opinion on DE:HR is that I'm very much looking forward to it :)
I agree with this. Reviewers tend to pick out faults in games and I think they can give you a good overview of how it will be, but will never reflect everyones opinion.
I really enjoyed playing it but the story is awful and I don't like the way Samus is portrayed. In fact, I don't like any of the characters. Or the way you upgrade a lot of your equipment. Didn't seem very well thought out.
I like the way we do it here in the UK. It's illegal to sell a age rated game to someone under that age, however if someone of age purchases it for them then it's fine. After working at a game retailer I found it made a lot of parents aware of what kind of games their children are playing.
Although in saying all that it is a massive win for video games in recognising them as a form of media rather than just a toy that turns children into deranged killers.
