@takayamasama: I really love the amount of characters in the books and the bits of humor everyone gets. There's also way more plots in the books that I really like.
But the movie does a fantastic job of taking the important parts and general tone of the book that I love it too.
@petethepanda Should I read Seconds? I somehow haven't.
You know Wu's lines in the trailer and cheesy as hell but I can dig the Buffy vibe. That along with the addition of the Arbiter makes me pretty sure that'll I'll end up buying the season. I'm not even that into fighting games but after buying the complete collection that included 1 and 2 when it was on sale, I just enjoy the kind of crazy feel the game has.
I do wish there was a bigger story mode like Mortal Kombat but I'll admit that I'm not sure the cheesy characters would be able to sustain one.
@homelessbird: Oh totally. On a general definition it fits. It's that I find people just want to call something a meme when it's below them or something.
Or at least I feel that way. Not that memes shouldn't be dismissed/ignored sometimes or that people who find them too hilarious can be annoying but I think people can be too dismissive too.
Is it weird to call it a meme? I feel like I think slang first since meme is something I associate more with a running joke on the internet. But defining meme is a lost cause anyway, I feel like people use it just to say "this is a dumb joke, I hate it." or "damn you kids."
Anyway Netflix and chill is just a euphemism for home time fun time. Some people in this thread seem oddly annoyed by that. But it has been used by out of touch people to sound cool much like any other slang term or more notable by unaware marketing people.
I feel like most people talk about Sunset Overdrive fondly. The humor might be divisive but I find when it's mentioned people still have positive things to say about it. Definitely wouldn't say hated.
It's the most fun I've had just making outfits for my character.
