I think the server needs a refresh of *CLASSIC DUBSTEP BANGERS* under the basis of new Trackmania, new jams.

Hey there, got a weird bug for you. The play button that is on the middle of the video player before you start it running does not disappear when I click play, it just goes slightly transparent. Here is an image for reference of what I mean. It isn't related to anything like adblockers, as I have disabled all of those when testing. I think it might be related to my device with the new player. As you can see the video is playing here, or has been run, but the play button with the word premium has not disappeared.

Browser: Chrome

Thanks, and good luck with the new video player.

Heyo. Ever wondered what that dumb Game Kiwi thing was that got mentioned once or twice on GB? "Game Kiwi? That isn't a thing" ~ Jeff Gerstmann, 2015.

Well, it is a thing. It is two people, Mikeycp and me, Another Person. And we are doing Extra Life too on the GB team and have already got $325 towards the cause! We will be going live for 24 hours on the 14th November at 11AM PST/7PM GMT. We are a super late team in terms of when EL streams typically happen, but we are going all out for it. We have a full timetable (which you can check out on our EL page below), might be having a couple of guests on, and we hope you can join us on the wild ride that is charitable causes!

You can see our EL page here: http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.participant&participantID=182426

You can find our Twitch channel where we will be streaming from here: http://www.twitch.tv/gamekiwi/

We will be archiving everything we do over on our Youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVfcD06_gcfV8tIYTV9l0KA

We have a lot of cool plans for this all, including a segment devoted to games that never left Japan, some Mario Maker madness, a very brutal hour of Europa Universalis 4 Multiplayer in 1444 Japan with at least 8 players, some horror, and some jank in the Itch.io block. You can't live without some jank in your life. Jank keeps it dank.

The specific organisation our donations are directed towards will be the Children's Hospital of Orange County. So, if you missed any of the main GB crew streams and managed to miss the other teams under the GB banner, then check us out! It should be a good ride and we hope to see you in chat.

Additional note: I will probably do a Fallout 4 stream on my own under the GB EL banner on the 10th as well since turning the hot new title into a charitable cause sounds like a good idea to me. I will just go for as long as I possibly can which probably means over 12 hours, possibly the full 24. So, if you want to check that out too, be sure to drop by on the 10th!

When talking about "What is wrong with GamerGate", I find the better question to ask is "What is right about GamerGate?" It gives a more conclusive answer. As is widely reported, the goals of GamerGate are abstract at best, and the means by which they are aiming to achieve these goals are not ones which win opinions. Perceive a possible GamerGate victory - what have you done? Based on the current targets at hand, you have shunted out a few small individuals from the gaming industry, largely from two minority viewpoints (women and the LGBTQ movement), in order to achieve one low level goal, objective reviews. One of those demographics accounts for around half of the population. Understand this much, right now GamerGate is only a minor level movement that is only really in the public knowledge to a small niche even in gaming (although with large consequence of action), however, if the movement were to succeed, then GamerGate would become a major movement and become far more likely to receive more mainstream attention. It would move from the slightly dominant male consumer level and predominantly male producer and press level male industry over into the far more balanced general media level. Because most mainstream publications are at least liberalized to the point of understanding that forcing the women out of the discussion is a bad thing, they will likely hate you all for this. Yes, you are already hated now by a fairly sizeable group on the internet who identify themselves as opposing GamerGater, however, that will be nothing compared to the ocean of hatred should the movement succeed.

As such, due to how poorly planned out this entire movement is, I am left with having to choose one of two beliefs. One is that whoever is working on the top of the totem pole of GamerGate is highly incompetent. Basing your movement around such vitriolic hatred towards 'feelings' and women (notably two things I find that Gamergate links) in a largely liberal westernized (those targeted are based largely in the west) industry who accept women at least to the point that they are politically represented is not going to win you any favours from on high. The backlash is going to come, and when it does it is going to be hard. The second belief is that GamerGate was never about games, ethics or even journalism. It was about harassment and the rush of power. It was about being able to prove that when it comes to making a statement that even the largely anonymous or at least disposable internet masses have power, and targeting communities who are fledgling minorities at best in a field of industry was the best way to exercise this power. It was a flex of muscles, and then a formation of a circle to pat one another on the back, with little to no thought or care of the consequences involved. A fight for the sake of a fight. In either of these two possible beliefs in my mind, I have trouble trying to justify any part of it as 'right', and simply all of it as 'wrong'.

This statement of mine does not really serve a purpose, admittedly. I find myself largely opposed to the GamerGate movement, and have yet to have the opportunity for a believer in the movement to adequately explain the final level of their motive, or how their current targets achieve that. Due to this incoherence and relatively poor form of planning, I find myself sticking with the second of my beliefs. It is the darker of the two, and what it says about humanity is far worse than simply considering a person incompetent as it implies that people can be so shitty for so little reason, but I really have trouble believing that an individual can be just so incompetent.

Hey Alex, got to ask, why is it you don't feature on Bombcasts via Skype? Your input is always insightful and constructive, so it is pretty disappointing that you get to feature in very little non-review content by circumstance and situation. Even if you only had a small segment on the podcast, where they guys Skype called you for a half hour during the "What have you been playing this week" section, it would be appreciated, as it is always good to hear from you.

Nonetheless, it is great to see you with a weekly column now, I will enjoy reading it and keeping up with what it is you have to say.
