Game Trends that Need to End!

What are some game trends that annoy you, and that you would like to see come to an end? 3 obvious ones have been on my mind and I was wondering if anyone else was bothered with the same things I am.
 1) Putting  Zombies into a game because they are so in right now! (e.g. Call of Duty, Red Dead, Borderland, etc.)
2) Collectibles that mean absolutely nothing. (e.g. Alan Wake's coffee thermoses & can pyramids)
3) Adding multiplayer into a sequel to a game that had a great story because every game needs multiplayer right? (e.g. Bioshock 2, Dead Space 2)

What are some trends you all don't care for?

1. Gamestop preorder commercials. They're ubiquitous here in the US and seem to be replacing potentially awesome commercials about the game itself (see Halo: Reach) with goofy nonsense that I rarely find funny or enticing (See: Harlequin Preorder Commercial for AC: Brotherhood)
2. Throwaway multiplayer
3. Social Connectivity that only serves to piss other people off with constant status updates about whatever game your playing
4. Shameless ingame advertising (it can be done well, but when done poorly, it is so obtrusive)

People insulting popular game franchises (World of WarCraft, Halo, Call of Duty, Final Fantasy etc.), without making valid points. But then try to halt any debatable arguments with the "its my opinion" excuse. That's a trend that I would love to see die within the gaming community. But I know that it will never happen. I also hate it when they insult or stereo-type the user fanbase, as an excuse to justify their "opinions".

EDIT: God, just realised two dudes bumped a week-old thread, and didn't initially notice.  Sorry for bumping this back up.

The best part about this is hearing that its 'the best game yet' each time xD.

I personally want the tutorials and pacing of some of the intro's in games better.
Fable 3 did a bloody well job of making the game look horrible in the start.
"Here, prince/princess, why don't you walk through a wolf infested mountain without any kind of weapon while wielding a fireball spell?"
Sure it got the job done, rather easily too, but sometimes common sense is absent from such scenarios.
That said, once I got my mitts on some weapons and more spells the game went up in rating!

Those are both great examples of how to do multiplayer right.  "
I have no idea about Dead Space 2, but you're right on with Bioshock 2, while it was certainly not a needed addition to the game, they incorporated the multiplayer mode into the game's canon, which I do think is awesome - it made perfect sense within the game world. "
I would argue that Bioshock 2 was an unnecessary addition to the series in general, but I've purchased it for 360 and PC. T__T "
It was pretty necessary, what with it being a great game (my GOTY!). Everything that BioShock 2 did right, I guarantee will be in BioShock 3... er, I mean Ken Levine Presents Another BioShock Game.

To be honest, I don't think zombies are the problem per se, it is adding zombies ofr the sake of having them. Whilst the RDR zombies didn't necessarily fit, I think they were well incorporated into a coherent plot (sort of...). Also, there has always been a history of zombie modding, so people do want zombies in their games! So, I don't mind zombies, but it's when it feels like there was no need to do it - if they release another Left 4 Dead soon, without any radical changes in game design, I think that would be a good example of a tedious zombie addition.
