Take Jeff's podcast advice: Read a book.

Other than playing games and reading books: learn something new (khanacademy), build something, go workout, hang out with your significant other. I can't understand how people get bored, I usually find it difficult even to take naps or go to sleep at night because there is so much stuff I want to do. Diversify

I think it is somewhat true. Lately I'm trying to reset the way I approach games. I'm always trying to race to the finish of a game to chip away at my stack of unplayed games, or gunning for some achievement, or grinding XP... I have to consciously take the time to goof around and just have fun. I think the lack of having IRL people around to play games with makes a big difference. Sadly gone are the days when friends came over for a Saturday night and played some game together. Even Xbox Live is rare for me now and its usually again trying to get some coop or boosted multiplayer achievement.

I'm attempting, only somewhat successfully, to play more for fun lately. Dirt multiplayer has been good for this, I've been playing a bit of Reach, Gears, and league of legends online just for playings sake. Again IRL people make a huge difference, my gf watching me play through LA Noire caused me to just focus on the story and not playing perfect. Dance central with a bunch of people has been my pinnacle of playing for fun as well. I need to find some like minded IRL gamers to play with.

It just asks you amount, name you want, and the partner site and you can put in a custom URL. Somehow GB doesn't show up on the top 100 partner sites yet despite my donation... my name appears on the main list however.

Enough chit chat! I just dropped $25 and used http://www.giantbomb.com as the partner site. Represent!

Between this update news and the LoL championships it looks like I'm going to spend the rest of the month jumping into older MP games!

Ugh. I hate the fragmentation.

I'm sure its all about control and money but as a user this is annoying. Although the bullet points are all about friends lists and unification that is exactly what they are breaking. Right now I see everyone on steam, but now it will be some people on steam, some people on origin... It's yet another client I have to run, yet another program asking me to install patches every time it starts, etc, etc. yet another sign up for another login I don't really want.

EA have been crap in the past about downloads giving you limited time frames and asking for extra money for the ability to download again... but even if they got their shit straight I'd still be annoyed at the idea of having yet another service... It's one thing to have it in game, which is annoying enough. It's another thing to invade outside the games.

I will avoid this service as long as I can.
