@thepickle: Come on man, the last thing Dan needs is bad info, since he apparently did not attend a school while he was in kansas.

Stuff happening at a small scale is absolutely described by quantum mechanics, stuff happening at a large scale or very high speeds is described by relativistic mechanics. Newtonian mechanics are the old (17th-19th century) classical theories of movement for things that we look at on a human scale like cows and apples.

@likeassur: it's very easy to say that you will be more open to things, it's difficult to actually mature. I feel that the frustration with Dan is that his personality is that of someone 5-10 years younger. He's not stupid, but he doesn't seem to have made the maturity jump the rest of us did in our mid twenties regarding unfamiliar thoughts and actions.

Regarding the thought that he is just constantly pretending to be close minded and profoundly undereducated dude, at some point wanting to play that character all the time is a behavior itself.

Man, that Nier thing looked okay, but then it got super anime. Anime is for jerks. Also, Brad is the most timid hitman player I have ever seen (my sample set is 4 people, myself being one), but maybe its a playing on a stream kind of thing. Hopefully when he's playing for real he can relax and realize that if you aren't actively under fire the AI is super oblivious.

The fact that during the discussion of nifty level shifting mechanics and time travel nobody mentioned dishonored 2 at all really underlines for me that nobody on staff bothered to finish that game. I think the bit in titanfall is pretty cool, but i thought it was much more fun when applied to stealth mechanics rather than left trigger right trigger.

Man, almost every one of the ideas that they came up with in the Hitman level brainstorm has been done in previous Hitman games. Agent 47 in SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE tho, that's an idea...

@thedigitalistic: It is frustrating to watch these two play the game sometimes, because now that they've crossed over a few hours of playing the game they don't really have an excuse to not know how things work. Normally I'd give Brad a break because playing a stealth game for an audience is hard, but you should have a basic understanding of the systems, especially since the game is being played on a system that is so slow at loading that you can read a ton of tool tips.

About Dan being ignorant of the Tamil Tigers, this is a guy that doesn't know what gravity is. I think a basic knowledge of world terrorist groups should be part of growing up, but Kansas is a state famous (in the US if maybe not worldwide) for the low quality of its educational system. I don't want to live in Colorado either, but MAN Colorado is better on almost every spectrum except perhaps corn grown.

I caught this live and thought it was easily the worst live GB thing in quite some time. Worth what I paid for it tho! Also, nice to see Austin, even if it was in a poor way.

@zemadhatter: @frytup: Another well made point, thanks frytup. I think one of the things that doesn't play as much outside of the us (although that is likely changing as everyone has access to all the info) is how fractious a group we can be, and how our political systems can push a state's laws far outside of what the citizen's collective views might be. Even being interested in civics and living in the US, I did not realize how regressive some states could be compared to California until I lived in one for a while. There are almost certainly poli sci and sociology majors writing papers on the internet's impact on that schism as we speak, but Dan (and I, we are the same age, ish) are both products of a 20 year old educational system.

thanks for the discussion gents, this has motivated me to go do some research on what 10 year old kids are expected to know in 2016, vs what we managed to internalize in 1993.
