I've played through and finished this game at this point, and while there is some okay stuff in the middle (I thought Kadera and Eladaan were more interesting planets to explore than the first three), the lack of interesting story and interesting characters all the way through the game just killed me. Between this and dragon Age Inquisition Bioware has shifted from a studio whose games I am excited about to something akin to a Platinum, where game reviewers are going to have to take that hit for me. Coming from a background of things like Baldur's gate and Kotor, the tragedy of this game for me is not so much EA shitting it out for their fiscal quarter (altho that sucks too), but the loss of the studio's writing chops.

That being said, honesty compels me to append that I played on PC, and aside from the character animations being terrible (and the human faces being laughably grotesque), I only ran into a single bug in 60 hours of game. I had to reload an area once because a container I had to open failed to have the open me prompt. I wonder why this game is so much buggier on console, and I wonder how much backlash EA will get from the console manufacturer's over circumventing the rules for releasing unfinished products.

@spindini: Woof, I love Kerbal, but I couldn't stand the whole Dan asking stupid questions and failing to learn how the universe is put together schtick. My vote goes for some more FMVinny, I don't know if he ever played thru Tesla Effect, but that game is surprisingly rad.

I played this game a couple of months ago, I thought it was rad as fuck. Playing thru without raising any alarms was a damn good challenge (I gave up trying to be nonlethal after the first mission, except with civilians).

Also, I played the entire game with a controller, preferred the direct control.

Pro tips: you are not visible when you are setting up your shadow strikes, so you can run your shadow dude wherever to set up what you want, then execute when the guys are close. Also, set your traps in bushes to auto hide the body after it goes off. In most missions that you use Old Man Sniper you can get more ammo for his rifle, i didn't usually run out.

I just finished with Ganon after around a hundred hours (i think) of this game on the wii u, and while it gets pretty damn framey in towns, it never got AS framey as it shows in this video, i wonder if some capture settings are making things look worse than they are. That being said, since most of the frame drops are in towns not combat, i didn't find it a deal breaker. Certainly a bummer to see this and the switch game both performing so poorly, but that's console gaming for you. Be interesting to see if they can get this to 60 frames in CEMU this year.

Framerate aside, this is absolutely one of the best games I've played in years, and the best zelda I've played since link to the past (i'm excepting link between worlds since that plays so heavily on nostalgia). Anyone with a wii u that is on the fence should just play it on wii u, rather than sit around fretting and not playing the game.

I ended up finishing this game up a couple days ago, and while i feel it starts way stronger than it finishes, it's pretty good all the way thru. REALLY looking forward to them picking up Majima's third fighting style (altho i stuck with slugger for most of my playthru).

Regarding running away from Mr Shakedown (s), it's actually in your best interest to fight those guys whenever possible, at least as Majima. They were my main source of money with him, since his business option is far less lucrative compared to Kiryu's. The fights are not super difficult, you just have to be dodgy. Once you get a shotgun like the zap gun the fights become cakewalks, and by the 8th one or so they drop between 1 and 2 billion yen for each couple minutes worth of work.

I like the guys talking about the production details, not so much because i care about the videos (I seldom watch a stream, and the machines on which i do so are beefy enough that nothing GB is pushing out is going to faze them), but because I like them talking about things that interest them. I agree that the videos have been a little fuzzy and washed out, I imagine Drew/Jason will get that fixed when they have a moment.

One of the best things about Dan getting out of town is that we get to see more Rorie. Secret Best Matt on GB videos.

@auzurafi: Word! These games may wither and die, but that game collective thing got $5 from me, so hopefully that's cool for them.

@stordoff: you are not wrong. Vinny has the patience of a saint, apparently.
