I agree with Dan and Vinny that this game has some weird control quirks (especially in the ball mode), but it's weird to me that Dan would bring up Super Mario Sunshine because I always thought that game controlled like hot garbage on fire.
Also there's apparently a prelaunch patch going out that will attempt to address some of the camera issues, which seems like the main universal problem everyone's having with this game.
I thought a lot of that Duke shit was pretty funny. Maybe Jeff and Brad just getting too old to have a sense of humor.
I would've rather seen gbeast look at that stuff.
Young guy here to confirm that's it's not just Brad and Jeff, the Duke stuff is just legitimately not funny. I think they got it exactly right, having Duke switch between just saying Grayson's lines and repeating "I'M DUKE NUKEM I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE" over and over again is pretty lame.
Honestly if anything I'd expect older people to be more down with it since they might have actually played the game he came from when it was new and widely considered great, and thus have some sort of reverence for the character
If we're going to have arguments about Overwatch characters I'd like to put it out there that D.va is a super lame "hey come play our game we added a character you all probably want to bang" cop out character that's also super obnoxious and 76 is the best because he's basically future Clint Eastwood.
I didn't think Overwatch was that great, it was really cool at first but it's frustrating as hell unless you're just playing casual games with friends.
I agree with Alex that there's a sort of "pureness" in the way the original Nidhogg is presented that is kind of a bummer to see missing in this sequel.
Regardless of how you feel about the leap in art style, though, the new presentation is still undeniably cool.
As someone who played and enjoyed Dead Rising 1 and 2, I think this game looks alright. On first glance, I definitely agreed that the heart and soul was missing at first, but after watching someone stream a bunch of the game, it definitely is still there. It's maybe not as prominent as people would want it to be, but this game does have the goofiness and weirdness that the other games had. I personally really love the zombie selfies and the fact that there's a point where you attach a slurpee machine to an exosuit to make it able to fire ice tornadoes at zombies.
I definitely do agree that the franchise has gotten a little overly concerned with one-upping itself though.
