That is a bit annoying, but I've never been that bad with lag. If I do, it's because someone has a bad connection, not the latency issue.

The only game in recent memory to really hook me with the single player component was Batman: Arkham Asylum, great game. Although, I would have still liked to see some co-operative play, perhaps with the challenge maps where two or more players had to disband a group of joker's henchmen in a coordinated manner, or try to accumulate a large combo against a horde of henchman. Simple things like these would be very welcome in my mind.

I have came to a stage in my gaming life where I don't enjoy playing games myself.

Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not one of these people who think games are better with a multi player component, I too try to imagine Bioshock 2 with multiplayer, and why it's really needed. However, a co-operative element is exactly what I would like. Whether it's like Call of Duty: World At War or Halo 3 where the co-op players are only there during game play, and the game focuses on the one protagonist in the story. On the other hand co-op games like Resident Evil 5 always have another player with you, whether it's AI or a friend you've got a partner.

I enjoy both of these game play mechanics and I enjoy games much more when I'm playing with friends, I just wish developers would implement this more in their games, I know most of my friends would prefer if they did too. I for one think it makes games more approachable and enjoyable, others may completely disagree.

Also, one thing that really annoys me with games that have co-op functionality is the achievements. So many games force you to play them by yourself to unlock them. Why? I prefer playing the game with friends, why do they push me to play myself to get these certain achievements? It's nothing big, but it's something that does annoy me.

So, what's your view on the subject?

Fuck off. I love MGS games and I enjoy Halo games. People like YOU are the problem was this thread needed, at all?

Metal Gear came out in 1987
Metal Gear 2 came out in 1990.
Metal Gear Solid came out in 1998.
Metal Gear Solid 2 came out in 2001.
Metal Gear Solid 3 came out in 2004.
Metal Gear Solid 4 came out in 2008.

A span of 21 years, smallest game is 3 years between each game. Very milky.
Portable ops is a direct sequel to MGS3 on the PSP. Came out in 2006, 2 years after the console game.
Peacewalker is a second sequel and that's 2009, 3 years after Portable ops, and 5 years after MGS3.

ACID! I haven't played, but I'm guessing these are the only 2 games that are really 'milking the franchise'.

Halo: CE came out in 2001.
Halo 2 came out in 2004.
Halo 3 came out in 2007.
Halo Reach isn't out until 2010.

3 year gap between each real sequel.

Halo wars came out as an RTS game, this is like portable or more so ACID as it doesn't really tie in with the main story line. This came out 2 years after Halo 3. Now ODST is the portable ops of Halo 3 and that came out 2 years after it too.

The only milking going on is that 2 games with the Halo name came out on the same year, but both completely different games entirely.

No milking in either franchise, stop with the threads like this.

So why was Fifa 07 the turning point? I played PES 06 and 08 a ton more than Fifa 07-09. Fifa 09 is definitely where the turning point was, which is pretty much backed up by when you decided to post this blog.
