Could probably put it as my second of the year. But you just can't beat Skyrim for GOTY. It would certainly be a shock it Skyrim didn't get it but I would totally love it if they made SR3 as GOTY as it would seem as absurd as the game itself.
Dragon Age 2 and LA Noir are the main ones. I bought bulletstorm super cheap so it was fine for the price, but if i got that at full price it would be on that list. I can understand Crysis 2 but it had some cool moments.
I enjoy all of the giantbomb's game of the year content (videos, podcasts). Couldn't care less about any other sites game of the years though. Generally giantbomb guys have identical taste to me that's a plus.
This could explain why I found Uncharted 3 a bit more difficult and frustrating than 2. Or it could just have been the dudes with shotguns continually flanking you while dudes on balconies launched rockets at you, while men on the ground spammed you with grenades.
I bought both Skyrim and MW3 on the same day, but I'd say I'm not the norm. I just can't help playing everything. I actually enjoyed MW3's single player (multiplayer same old same old) but definitely Skyrim is a leagues better game.
I can't believe how everyone is forgetting about Dead Space 2 as a contender this year. That game was probably my 2nd fav game of the year next to 'Skyrim' the one game to rule them all. Dark Souls is great too but I don't think it could be GOTY because it's so divisive.
Silent Hill 4. Couldn't finish that game just cause of that dick who continually hunts you down, he freaked me out too much.
Code Veronica back in the day did a pretty good job at freaking me out too. The Penumbra games were scary enough to put me off Amnesia, and I generally can handle horror games.
