No Honda I guess, but then again he can't combo / juggle for shit so I'm not surprised. I imagine Dudley and Guy are going to be able to do some crazy stuff 3-4 months down the line.

Nice to see Elena get some love too, she's always been a cool character and its nice to see her get into the game. Would have been nice to see Q get in there, but whatever.

@Zippedbinders: Reducing the amount of button presses that are needed to kill someone with melee is not an 'improvement'. Sure, you managed to kill a couple of guys, probably a couple more than in any other Mass Effect game, but melee combat still boils down to; running up to guys, getting shot all the way, and probably dying by the time you go for the second guy. Not a legitimate strategy. On anything other than easy.

What part of "I was playing on hardcore" did you not read? Its not Insanity, but its not like it was a cakewalk either. I like to think myself an aficionado of punching enemies in the face, what with my love of using hand to hand in any game that will let me. ME3's melee combat is vastly improved and is a viable strategy for when you're in a corner or want to do it with a little flair. I'm sorry if you're terrible at melee combat. That isn't my fault and now its definitely not Bioware's fault.

Okay, fine, you got me. I didn't read the 'playing on hardcore' bit.

However, I wouldn't exactly call it 'melee combat' when it requires one button press, and is a ' viable strategy for when you're in a corner' . Sure, but what about in open spaces? Against multiple enemies? We both (should) know that you'll have to fall back onto shooting and skills. So its the same as it ever was.

I'm not saying it needs to be anymore than that, but considering Bioware, and you, have been making a big fuss about it, I expected a bit more. It essentially boils down to being a QTE without the prompt popping up.

Sure, they may build upon it in the game itself, maybe some kind of AoE effect, different weapons, make the actions quicker, make you invincible whilst you do it etc, but going off the demo alone, I don't really know how you can defend / champion it.

I'm also not sure about how someone can be 'terrible' at the melee combat. You press the B button when your close to dudes, right? Maybe hold it down a few seconds instead? Then do the same thing to the next guy? Doesn't seem that hard.

(I also finished Dark Souls with just a spear and shield, but that's another story)

@TheMasterDS: I'm with you dude. I was really confused / disappointed by the demo. I HOPE that what we played will be only one of the possible starts to 3 (possibly if you choose paragon) and other people get something that makes mores sense. However, I'm kind of dreaded how Cerberus will be handled in this game. Considering I choose a renegade ending for 2, will I be forced to fight Cerberus in 3? Considering since they took the time to make them, and give them AI etc, I imagine I'll probably have to. Maybe the Illusive Man stabs you in the back or something. I don't know. We also don't know how far that is into the game, so maybe it'll make sense by the time you get there, but it'll probably be for a stupid reason.

This game seems really, really dumb to me. Just look at the writing between Anderson and Shepard. Otherwise known as the most cliche, fucking boring dialogue I've ever heard. 'I owe you one', 'more than one'. Fuck off. Then you have the stupid human council, 'Something's attacking the systems WHO COULD IT POSSIBLY BE?! OH NO, ITS THE REAPERS'. SHEPARD WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG (that's you by the way, so feel smug) .

And it was if Bioware / EA knew it; giving you a pretty boring / uninteresting opening (it was okay, but nothing more than we've been expecting) and then throwing Wrex, Garrus and Liara in the second part of the demo as if saying, 'hey look guys, this is proper Mass Effect game! Please just ignore all this bullshit and just look at Wrex for a bit. Wrex is totally in this game, guys. Honest.'

Goddamit Bioware, please don't fuck this up. Please.

Nice, well done that guy. He has way more patience and skill than I have. What weapons did he use, may I ask?

I think normal is pretty reasonable. I like my puzzles games, but I'm a bit out of practice of late so I think I'm doing about as well as I should (it's because they took the puzzles out of horror games, oh the days of the Resident Evil crate puzzles). That being said, I am now stuck on the second of the FUCKING ICE LEVELS. FUCK YOU ICE, and FUCK YOU ASSHOLE SHEEP, JUST WALKING AROUND GETTING IN MY WAY. The difficulty is fine, it's just that sometimes the traps can make it seem cheap and unfair.

I got mine through shopto.net, which is pretty good because I also got a day early. I was hoping the poster would have Catherine on one side, and Katherine on the other, but it was not to be.

Also, try your best to keep your fights one v one if possible. Two kings is bearable, but more than that it can get ridiculously hard. The way I did it though was to keep my shield up at all times, rolling away from any moves that look like grabs, or that purpley-sphere move and to not try anything fancy. Some good old D'

If it is just DLC, I kinda want some more PvP stuff, didn't do a whole lot of it in my play-through, and I was never really all that bothered about griefing other people / more souls and higher levels, but if it's on separate thing then I would be down for that. If its carefully monitored, of course, I'm not going up against a dude on his NG+++++

Yeah, I tried the exact same thing, and mine didn't work. The movement of the stick gets turned into movements on the d-pad, instead of on the analog stick (because sticks can only move 8-ways and analog is, well, analog). Shame really.
