I am curious if anyone knows the nuts and bolts behind level interactions in the game, specifically why there is such a huge gulf between levels in regards to damage during combat.  For example; let's say I am a 47 and I am trading lead with a 48 badass brute.  I can seemingly pour endless rounds into him before he goes down, with some pretty high spec yellow and orange elemental weapons.  My assumption is that he is 'leveled' to be just about, or a bit more powerful than me, meaning his shield is 1000 or so and his health bar is around the same.  I can knock him silly with critical hits from a corrosive shotgun, clearly dealing more than 2000 damage in a very short period of time. The damage multipliers popping off of him easily add up to over 2000.  Yet I merely chip away at his health bar.  Conversely - he can waste me in two-three shots.  Anyone know the mechanics behind this?

Are you talking about Crawmerax, or something else?

I wonder what level he is in that video, I'm not able to tell. I'm not 61 yet but would love to solo Crawmerax to get some new gear.

Man, there was A LOT of back and forth on that road in the Knoxx DLC. It got kind of old. The endgame was cool, though.

Roland, on playthrough two now, but am sort of wishing I had gone with Lilith. Elemental guns seem to be what it's all about and apparently that character is optimized to use them.

Mine was back when I turned it on about 9pm PST, just like nothing ever happened. My borderlands DLC's were back and the save game took me right back to T-Bone Junction. During the outage the game was claiming that I had not downloaded Knoxx, and was kicking me straight to Firestone.  Strangely enough, the guns I had acquired in Knoxx were there, but they said 'Armory Required' in red and were not equippable.
