Not only the best playing Metal Gear game, but might be one of the best action games of all time. Even its story can't damper on such a masterpiece.

I definitely gravitate more towards the fast paced Bloodborne over its slower Souls brethren. The best thing I can say about it is that it's one of the few games I went back to finish again. It's that good.

Without being tethered by Nostalgia, this darker game in the series still had its comedic touch that made it one of the best. Maybe not as good as part 9, but that's a big shoe to fill.

Maybe it died down after the internet turned it into "the best game ever made", and while I don't agree with that statement, Undertale is way too lovable to hate. Heck, the shmup-esque battle system is genius on its own right.

Give me a well crafted platformer over the chaotic Mario Maker any day of the week. I am not kidding. Best game since Yoshi's Island. It's charming yet challenging at the same time. A gem on the WiiU.

A charming MetroidVania marred by mediocre combat. The sequel more than made up for it but still, a wonderful adventure nonetheless.

Perhaps the most underrated game in the list, Dying Light took everything that didn't work in Dead Island and made it great. Basically any game that gives the player a grappling hook and utilizes it well deserves a spot. Also Zombies...

The best David Cage game not to be made by David Cage. You take what worked in Heavy Rain, i.e. the choice system, what worked in Beyond i.e the Acting, and add a lot more personality and tension and you get one of the best of the year.

For a first attempt at an online shooter by Nintendo, Splatoon is a blast of ink. Even the single player was enjoyable, but the multiplayer is where its at. The fact they supported it so much after launch helped it rise even further.
