I recently spent about $3k CAD on firearms and accessories. If you love what you do, there's no shame in dropping serious cash on it.

I refuse to buy anime because of prices like that. That, and I don't buy any movies/TV shows to own because I never watch stuff more than once. So it's silly to pay that kind of price for something that will just give me such a short amount of entertainment time then sit on my shelf to collect dust until I sell it or throw it out. Anime being so uber expensive, even compaired to the already over priced regular stuff, just makes me not want to buy it that much more. Not to mention how they sell the dam stuff in such horrible bundles. Unless it gives free blowjobs there is no way I would ever pay $70 for 3 episodes of any TV show ever.

Idk, I wouldn't spend that much on a Blu-ray disc, but that's probably because I still think paying the full $60 on games is pretty hefty. But hey, you have the money, so go for it. I'd really be into it if they included a poster or something to go along with the 9 volumes. That's just me though.

Ehh, back in the day I dropped about $300 dollars for a single season of Ranma 1/2 on VHS. Been there brother.

Hulu is my friend in these situations. Buying every episode of One Piece would be hell. But I get where your coming from when you said that you like owning the actual item. I'm like that with manga mainly because a)Scanlations are pretty crappy b) Reading online manga isn't the same as reading real manga and c) My bookshelf looks pretty sweet.

If you happen to be a North American, yes. Only very few shows get licensed for international streaming and those are mostly shallow mainstream productions and nothing of interest.

Anyway, I only purchase anime if the bonuses are truly worth it. That or if the show was awesome tier. Which is pretty rare for both.

I spent the equivalent value of a second hand car on anime dvd's a decade or so ago. I had to do it. No regrets.
