I'm rapidly getting the impression that Watchmen is going to be a cult classic for a long time. Fuck the critics, Watchmen was amazing.

It's a question of moral and nothing else. Would you cheat on your girlfriend/boyfriend because you wanted some hot exciting sex, even though you loved your partner? The people who pirate don't give a hoot about game makers families, just like murderers don't care about the families of their victims. Just like hunters don't care about that poor deer-mother looking for her beloved fawn (now being skinned and made food of). How can breaking up a deer-family and eating the child be ok and pirating not?

I think people who pirate anything should pay, because what they do is in fact illegal. I also think that people who buy the stuff are dumbasses, as they're paying for what others get for free.

What I'm saying here is that some people will not eat meat, but pirate games, whilst others eat poor cute fawns and hate on pirates. Our moral standpoints are irrational and nothing says that better than the dissent of this thread."

I feel the same way about rape scenes.  They are ALWAYS uneasy for me to have to watch.  The two that really made me incapable of keeping my eyes on the screen were in Once Upon A Time in America and The Midnight Meat Train.  Well...the one in Meat Train wasn't really a rape scene, but she definitely wasn't enjoying it.  The Outlaw Josey Wales was another one, but again, it never really goes too far.

Despite the fact that Watchmen follows the graphic novel and doesn't have an actual rape occur...the scene is still disturbing as Hell, thanks to a great performance by Jeffrey Dean Morgan as The Comedian.  He sold that character wholeheartedly.  Oscar worthy?  Pushing it, but not quite there.  Still, he was excellent in that flick.

Malin Akerman (Silk Spectre) gets it on with Patrick Wilson (Nite Owl) in Archie.  So yes.  It reminded me a bit too much of the sex scene in 300, though...but that's okay.  Whatever.  She's still smoking fucking hot, and for an R rated movie, it was damn near softcore porn.  The amount of sex, blood, and violence in this movie really surprised me for a theatre release...which is a GOOD thing given the source material.

As for the amount of dong...whatever.  There was just as much dick in the graphic novel, so I don't see what everyone's problem is.  Snyder could've been a pussy and had Dr. Manhattan be flat...but he didn't.  This is like the same controversy that was around the troll in the first LOTR movie having twig and berries.  Fucking who cares?!  It's an R rated movie.  Everyone knew going in that there was a naked blue man.  If they were surprised by it, or disgusted by it...then walk the fuck out.  If someone seriously wants to complain about the amount of male nudity, then I would also suggest for you to STOP GIVING MONEY TO JUDD APATOW, YOU FUCKS!!!  Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Walk Hard, and a plethora of movies have come out lately with dick in it.  Guess what.  You have a dick that you see everyday, so it's not like you don't see it.  Hell, you probably beat off plenty.  You watch porn, where you see a dood's dick.  So whatever!!!  The fact that Snyder wasn't willing to cut it out makes me happy, as it meant that he wasn't going to cheapen the experience for the die-hard comic fans.

Personally, I thought the movie was fucking marvelous.  Yeah, after the sex scene, everything started deviating a bit much from the graphic novel...but the same impact and tone was there...and that's all that mattered.  I like how Snyder handled the material, and I think he did the graphic novel as much justice as he could.

Also, remember...we've still got the DVD edition coming, which will cut The Black Freighter back into the flick, as well as additional stuff.  With as great as it is now, I can't wait to see it with everything in there.

@Bulldog - they keep to the way the "rape" scene was in the graphic novel.  There's no actual rape.  He beats the shit out of her, though, which was still just as uncomfortable.
