"Not a sunglasses guy" is actually the most idiotic thing I've ever heard Dan say. Who prefers to squint when it's really sunny? Its a pain, it gives you a headache if you do it for too long and there is a well known and easy way to counteract it. Fucking sunglasses.
I wouldn't really count myself as a sunglasses wearer. 98% of the time I wear a cap, which I find negates any need for my wearing sunglasses; it's only if I'm at something where I'm not wearing a cap (like a dressier event or around the pool) that I'll slap some sunnies on. But if it's a bright day and I'm just walking down to the shops, it's just cap on and go.
Demon's Crest is one of my all-time favourite games, regardless of system. The tone and style of that game is like nothing else on the SNES, and its hidden depth is so goddamn cool.
I love that the last thing we hear is Dan being cut off as he's about to explain why he took the batteries out of his smoke detector. It is the final brushstroke applied to the masterpiece that is this video.
If I ever make a banana cake, you bet your butt I'm eating the leftover batter in the bowl once I've tipped the bulk into the tin. Who doesn't eat uncooked batter? IT'S SO GOOD.

That was the bit I mentioned as the new technique I figured out: I drew it in rough blocks directly in the application I use to make PETSCII, and then refined it into the final look; normally I'd figure it all out external to the app, then go in and place each piece separately according to the plan. I'm really happy with the way it turned out, and have used the method in the next piece I'm making. Seems to be working for me! :)
