It's less a problem with the people who merely smoke it and more the people who try to treat it like some kind of lifestyle and the companies who try to exploit that lifestyle. Maybe it's just because I've lived so close to Humboldt County for my entire life, but I'm just sick of hearing people talk about it as if it makes you "cool" or "special."
Not to hijack this thread completely, but they should legalize weed and stop treating it like it's some kind of mystical, horrible substance. You're right that not everyone smoking weed turns into xXxGanjaKilla420BRxXX... but there are enough idiots like that out there to make that stereotype work. If weed was legal, it wouldn't have this weird taboo status anymore, and people like z BluntRollah420 z might not feel the need to self-identify this way and tell anyone who will listen that he's better at getting headshots after two blunts.
On top of all that, I'm tired of people thinking that I'm constantly baked or whatever just because I like video games and burritos. So yes, I lash out when I see shit like "Joint Ops" because it's stupid stoner shit that just proves that the stereotype is true. It's a lazy reference that doesn't substantially add to the game, but it'll manage to give anti-game types more ammunition next time they decide to level a bunch of criticism at the medium.
So in conclusion, I don't need to take anything to enjoy a burrito. I just enjoy burritos.
"I didn't. Where did I say that I expect anyone to know why I agree? I didn't say anything that would make me seem retarded either, he called me and a lot of others a retard based on a difference of opinion. Nothing else. I agree with much of what is said in Zeitgeist, and he doesn't. Is that a reason for calling people retards? "
Don't complain when people make comments on your opinion unless you plan on attempting to back them up. That was my point.
And when you're in agreement with a guy promoting NWO conspiracy theories, then yes, it is certainly a reason to call people that.
