@KaosAngel: You could sort by new if you're always after new stuff. Comment votes work similar to Digg in that the first people there tend to get all the upvotes so if spreading truthiness is your mission then commenting on new or upcoming links won't hurt.
But honestly, subreddits are the real reason you should stay. Whatever you're interested in, there's likely a subreddit with like minded people and if not, start one. Edit your subscriptions to make the front page relevant to you.
And yes, that includes a diverse selection of nsfw material. r/gonewild is a good place to start.
I switched from Digg to Reddit about 18 months ago. The only thing that kept me around for so long was Diggnation and even that got stale when half the running time is promos for sponsors. Hearing about the fall of Digg all weekend I decided to check it out.
Holy. Shit.
I hope they made a ton of cash selling out because there is nothing redeeming left on that site. Shame really, they had a good thing going for a few years.
Risk has always used deploy/attack/move turns. We used to play similar card rules but the official method is to receive 4/6/8/10/12/15/+5 for each cumulative and subsequent set traded.
Won't disagree with having house rules though, would've made the game much better.
I’m still struggling to see where Microsoft are heading with Kinect. The entire casual market they’re aiming for has been already been catered to by Nintendo. Sure this appeals to that market but everyone in it has already bought a Wii and probably doesn’t own an Xbox, so why would they fork out roughly $350 for essentially the same experience (and games) twice?
So who exactly are they selling this to? The 18-35 male CoD/Gears demographic couldn’t give two shits about waving their hands through the dashboard menus or voice commands, they just want to play some games on Xbox Live and chat with friends which Kinect offers practically nothing to.
So make some core market games, but how? Shooters are where the money is at (Gears/CoD/Halo) but how exactly do you shoot without tactile buttons to press or move without actually moving from the spot? Really how do you make anything other than Wii-HD games with Kinect?
The tech look very impressive, if somewhat laggy in places, but I really don’t see the market for this. But then again, people are STILL buying the Wii and associated shovelware so who knows =P
