Charlie Brooker and Konnie Huq are engaged.

Is anyone else completely shocked by this revelation? If your wondering, Konnie Huq used to present blue peter and Charlie Brooker is an absolute hero.

I get the feeling Brooker's only marrying her because it's so ironic.

I gotta say, as an American, if I didn't have a vague concept of what Blue Peter was thanks to Wikipedia, this would be completely impenetrable.

That is one the most unexpected thing I've ever heard. She did appear in that one episode of Screenwipe (or was it Newswipe?) but you usually hear about these 'celebrity' couples a long time before they get engaged.

I didn't even know they were together. Well, good luck to them, Konnie was always a fantastic presenter on Blue Peter, and Charlie is absolutely hilarious.

Konnie Huq was a presenter for blue peter which is the longest running British childrens tv show  . 
Chrlie Brooker invented the angry reviewer thing that the nerd, Yahtzee and those guys do back when he wrote for a pc mag in the 90's.

Brooker is a legend. I don't know much about Konnie, but she seemed alright. Brooker's rants are legendary.

This is so opposite, a fun loving ex Blue Peter presenter and a miserable, moaning fuck. Good for them anyway.

I'm happy for Brooker ( I think that in private he's a genuinely happy person ) but I've seen a lot of backlash against him because of this. I admit it's an odd scenario but there are a lot of people who think he's betraying them by marrying a blue peter presenter, and these people are fucking mental.

Having grown up on British television (not literally of course) this is interesting and surprising news but congratulations to the both of them, I re-watched a couple of episodes of one of Charlie Brooker's shows this morning, that man is a brilliant presenter.

Fuck! Really? Awesome! Hopefuully he hasn't told her he's deaf in one in this time though.
