Just picked it up for a buck. Had my eye on Sacred and Risen for a while, so I couldn't really pass it up. Super great deal!

Having just recently played Uncharted 3 (and finished up another playthrough of 2), I'm gonna have to second that series as a whole.

1 was....I don't even know, man. I figured I was missing something, because the whole thing seemed to quickly devolve into trial-and-error bullshit. I remember talking to a couple friends after I played it, and they all had the same experience. Just poor design, I guess?

2 was an improvement, in that it actually felt like a boss fight, but I personally didn't find it much fun. Running around in circles, shooting sap, occasionally getting shotgunned....just didn't feel great, and he takes a few more hits than what feels natural. Environmentally-focused bosses can be fun, but I feel like they make for unsatisfying final encounters. I just wanna straight-up fight dudes at the end of a game.

Which totally happens in 3. I don't care that I pretty much just mashed on Square until Triangle or Circle appeared, I still had more fun with it than the previous two bosses. The problem was that it just felt anticlimactic, especially the way it ended. Would've made a perfectly acceptable boss, but is just disappointing as a final boss.

Most definitely. I was thinking of writing something like this earlier, but couldn't find the energy or the right words. Remembering Ryan, and especially seeing others remember him, has had me thinking constantly about my life and the people I know, and as cheesy as it sounds, I just feel like I should be more like Ryan. Just earlier today I took some first steps in reconnecting with some people I've barely spoken to in years, and it feels great. Just wish I'd done it sooner, and that it didn't take a tragedy to inspire it.

I never would have expected it, but I think this might be one of my favorite Bombcasts ever. Just great/hilarious stories the whole way through. I thought I'd be bummed out, but I've just been chilling out and constantly smiling the whole time. Just a pure celebration of Ryan.

Well said. I've never met any of the GB crew, never interacted with them, hell, I barely post on the forums. But I've been coming here for over 3 years now (a relatively short time compared to some of you), and over that time, as lame as it might sound, Giantbomb's come to mean a lot to me. Over those past few years I've had some rough times, in particular I've lost touch with many of my friends. It was always comforting to know that I could come to this site and hear/see a bunch of familiar voices and faces talking about a subject I love. Even during a few small stretches of time when I lost interest in gaming, I'd still look forward to the podcast every Tuesday and watch a few QLs because I knew they'd always be good for some laughs. I still can't imagine never hearing "Hey everybody, it's Tuesday!" again.

I've been fortunate enough to have very few experiences with death; the only ones I've really experienced have been distant family members I barely knew. Even though I never met him, Ryan's still provided me with more entertainment than practically anyone else over the past few years, and that simple fact is enough to make his death really hit home.

@matsemann08: I let him go. It cuts to a few weeks later, everyone's bummed out, Shel and Becca are playing cards in the RV. It's revealed through dialogue that the guy came back with a group and one of the people in Shel's group (I want to say Boyd?) was killed in the attack.
