For some reason I don't pretend to understand, whenever a super-hot black-haired vixen shows up in a work of fiction, there's a pretty good chance that she'll not only be a villain, but a thoroughly sadistic, vampish, femme fatale sociopath completely devoid of redeeming qualities. As someone who rather likes dark haired hotties, I intensely loathe this trend. Here's a list of characters who fit it, each one a tiny dagger to my soul.

Though the Eva Greene version is portrayed sympathetically, in the original story, Vesper's betrayal of Bond is a much more remorseless act, and she a far less conflicted or tragic character.
