I haven't played much this year, for some reason. Despite having a PS4 and a high-end PC, I just haven't been able to find a whole lot that interests me. I'm probably going to have to go with Wildstar, simply because I've spent the most time playing that w/o getting bored. I know, I know, it's a "typical MMO" with all the typical MMO tropes, but I'm really having a good time with it.
Flash forward a couple months, and I think my answer would probably be Destiny. It's the first game I preordered in probably 5 years. The alpha was great.
It's not necessarily as "deep" as the other games you mentioned, in terms of overall role-playing nerdery. The story's definitely there, but don't expect to need to pay much attention to numbers or anything. Even so, I've played through it a few times, and probably will again. It's good fun.
My only fear is that the enjoyable Fable Anniversary would eventually make you play Fable 3. Do NOT play Fable 3. That game gave me a horrible rash.
Battletoads. That one damn near ruined my childhood. It's not the worst game per say, but it was so hard that I blame my lifelong self-esteem issues on it and it alone.
