There was an Italian video game channel on Sky TV back in its infancy, no idea what they were saying, for the most part they just rolled game trailers but sometimes they'd play Legend of Mir.
I'm not entirely against Fallujah being a thing, i like the guns and the "realism" of a game like Insurgency Sandstorm, whose single player campaign was cancelled, but i really don't expect them to make a game of that quality AND have a worthwhile campaign. It's doable, if you focus squarely on the experiences of an individual who doesn't have a say in how the whole thing went down, you can hear about questionable events and see how that affects you and your unit, in that position you can't protest the actions of your superiors/your country and you've got a job to do in a dangerous place, that could create an interesting juxtaposition but it could so easily be ruined by a story full of bravado and patriotism. I guess i'm thinking along the lines of a Brothers in Arms game, where the story becomes less about heroic actions and more the mental condition of the people involved. Like i said it's doable, but i don't expect them to be able to do it.
I always use Retroarch first, it's just a lot faster and easier to get games running the way i want, finding answers to emulator issues is difficult so it's nice when things just work. It's not great for everything, but it's a great place to start.
It took me a while to work out that James Dean was not Dean Martin and i was about to make a Cannonball Run 2 joke. Also in a Star Trek holodeck inspired future, all those celebrities likenesses are probably public domain.
Another part of the Goldeneye issue is the rights holders changing demands for what you can/cannot show, they apparently took issue with the blood, excessive killing, the ability to kill civilians/scientists and... of all things... cheats like big head mode, it's almost like they finally took a look at the games that were being made and decided they didn't want any more, which is why there haven't been any since 2012. If only they were made aware that Goldeneye the video game is one of the greatest of all time.
