Aris has some strong opinions but he's not some closed-minded bigot. For example, here's a spirited and hilarious exchange that went on between Aris and Kayo Sato, the FGC's resident transgendered spokeswoman, from 2011's EVO tournament.

I'm not defending his style of rhetoric, but this has less to do with sexual harassment and more to do with censorship.

Shining a light on something objectionable is not censorship.

But asking an entire community to drastically alter the way they express themselves in order to become more palatable to the tastes of outsiders IS censorship.

Oh, bullshit. Asking someone to not be such an asshole is NOT censorship. Nobody is forcing them to do anything.

It's kind of strange that the defense of the situation is doing more harm to the fighting game sport than the actual incidents themselves. Some dudes being jerks is unavoidable and even possibly forgivable, but a community rallying to defend the jerks and their behavior is what makes this special. It appears that if the sport organizers ever want the sport to grow, they're going to have to create a code of conduct, like most sports have, and enforce it with penalties. You can't expect a lot of money to come your way when you're embarrassing your fans and sponsors away.

Very well said.

@Clutch414: Did I say it did ? This topic has two threads in it chick getting " harassed " and people thinking this kinda thing should be censored . You can call the guy a asshole all you want it's the censorship that pisses me off. Now personally I don't see this as harassment if you read the rest of my posts you'll know why. What he did was a joke sure a joke in bad taste a joke that may or may not have crossed the line But it was not harassment .

Well, you did bring up the First Amendment as a defense for this guy, did you not? And by doing that, you showed that you have zero clue what protections the First Amendment provides. If Capcom were to kick this douchebag off their show it wouldn't be censorship, it would be business decision made by a private entity.

The First Amendment does not protect you from all repercussions for your speech, it only protects you from the government sanctioning you for that speech.

@darkdragonmage99: You clearly don't understand the First Amendment. The First Amendment only protects you from GOVERNMENT sanction for your speech; it doesn't protect you from other people calling you an asshole for acting like an asshole.

55" 1080p Sony LCD in my mancave that I picked up last week to replace a malfunctioning 50" 1080i/720p Samsung DLP.  The DLP was out of warranty and the repair would have cost just as much as the new TV.  Thankfully my wife agreed to it.

PS3 and 360 are both hooked up through HDMI and the Wii is hooked up through component cables.  Huge upgrade in picture quality.

@MaddProdigy:  Actually, it looks identical to the M-29 incisor sniper rifle  that was available in some versions at release and is now available in one of the DLC weapon packs.
