@chaser324: There have been a couple scenes of Big Boss taking out a bunch of dudes (like when you meet Ocelot), but yeah... for regular gameplay it'd be kind of strange.

Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria was pretty awesome. Expanded on the original with some cool positional options. Tri-ace games in general are very well-designed.

Chrono Cross was a lot of fun. Plenty of tactical options, interesting elemental system, and I liked how it handled magic use.

Final Fantasy X, just gave you a good understanding of the flow of a battle.

And, you know, Vagrant Story.
