PS3 Games I own

The Gamestop Game Days sale picked back up the PS3 ownership spree, updated list incoming!

List items

  • Brutally difficult but also completely brilliant. This is the first game that I got a platinum trophy on for the PS3, the first game I bought for the PS3, and one of the best games on the system. Demon's Souls is unforgiving, awesome, and scary in a way games just aren't anymore. It's true survival horror.

  • I was surprised how much I liked Uncharted. Yes it's great, but it's also a Tomb Raideresque game that I'd rather watch than play, but it's got me hooked and it took the sixth title to stop me from continuing to play through it.

  • My wife is sad that I'm moving on from the PS2 to the PS3 and there's no Kata... wait, there's a Katamari game? "Get in the car, we're going to get that now."

  • My wife's having a love/hate relationship with LittleBigPlanet. It's undeniably cute, but the floaty platforming elements can be frustrating.

  • It's nice to have a quick, pick up and play type game sitting on the hard drive. My 4 year old likes when I spin the "numbers blocks". I like when games can just be picked up quickly but there's some depth to it.

  • Wow, just a beautiful game, but like most other things, was put on the back burner as soon as Heavy Rain came in. Can't Wait to get back to it though, it's gorgeous.

  • So far for me it's living up to the hype. There's some technical issues, but it's not taking away from the fact that there's some brilliant stuff going on here.

  • I'm a sucker for a good Disgaea game. The familiarity to the series as a whole is a good drawing point as even with the changes it's hard not to feel instantly comfortable with it since I've beaten the first game numerous times and pushed through the second one as well (which I didn't like as much). The third one's throwing a lot at me, but fortunately I already know a lot of it. The Platinum on Disgaea 3 is a bitch and requires some manipulation of the systems, but anyone familiar with a Disgaea game knows that manipulating the system is what the whole thing is based off of.

  • You know how hard it is to find a copy of Bioshock for the PS3? I didn't think it was going to be that hard either, but I spent the last two weeks peeking in at various places to find it. I was just about to give up when I stopped off at a Gamestop after a trip to IKEA and there was a used copy. It was absolutely worth the search, as I'm having a blast with it.

  • My wife's going nuts trying to figure this one out. Just brutally hard and once she beat "Maindish" mode and found out there was a "Hell" mode she was not a happy camper. Still, she beat Maindish and I can barely get through the first level in it.

  • Cool concept, reminds me a lot of Every Extend Extra. Nice to pick up and play for a few minutes and not feel like you have to dedicate a lot of time to it.

  • Another Sony PSN sale game. Chi likes the level editor. It's one of those games that if I start playing, I'm going to end up playing for quite a bit, so I don't go to it too much and only if I want to just drift for a bit and blow some stuff up.

  • I figured I'd just mess around with a little bit and move on to something else, but Bayonetta's completely hooked me. It's one of those games that the more you play, the better everything feels, and the better everything looks. About 75% of the way done on normal mode, and it has me wondering about going on to the harder modes once finished with it. Absolutely a blast to play, and has an interesting 70s grindhouse/sexplotation feel to the game.

  • I figure this is one of those essential games that I should play if I own a PS3. I'd probably put it in the Heavy Rain category in that respect, and I will get around to it. I feel that once I get started it's going to require the full concentration focused on it.

  • I love the cinematic nature from what I've seen of Assassin's Creed and it's sequel. Like Uncharted, I don't want to play the games out of order, although I'll pass on the PSP Bloodlines game which serves as a stopgap in the series.

  • It just looks gorgeous, but I want to play the original before moving on to this. I think that once I get to it I'll probably burn through both in quick succession it's just a matter of clearing out the time right now to get through both.

  • For $19.99 it's the perfect time to jump on the Fallout 3 hype train. I don't think I've ever played a Bethesda game, so I'm looking forward to it since they're of high quality and Fallout 3 is beloved. The problem is that I just finished Demon's Souls and Bioshock before playing this the first time and both of those games do things Fallout 3 does better.

  • When you keep going back to the demo three months after you downloaded it, it's time to give the guys their money and thank them for a job well done. Great twin stick shooter.

  • Just a crazy set of doujin bullet hell shooters. Like Everyday Shooter this is a nice distraction you don't have to spend too much thought on, just twitchy reflexes and good eyesight to keep track of where you can be damaged.

  • I haven't put this up to four players yet, and I'd be interested to see if the issues I keep reading about the online multiplayer are real. Interesting stuff though, fun side scrolling beat em up.

  • Twitchy Twitchy Twitchy. I love the art style on the game, but I feel like I need a lot of time to really hone in and figure out how everything's laid out. For $6, it's a great game though and recommended to those who want some Doujinsoft games (see Gundemonium Collection for more doujinsoft goodness.)

  • Wow, what an incredible evolution of the venerable franchise. First game that's good enough to make me write a review on Giant Bomb for it. Great stuff here and a must get for anyone downloading games off of XBox Live or the Playstation Network.

  • Picked this up during the Playstation Sale for $7.49. Fun game that is a nice short burst time waster. Not sure if $15 is the right price, but if it drops to $9.99 or you get a chance to get it cheaper it's worth a look.

  • Incredible script, animation, and voice acting made Enslaved a journey worth taking. The characters were well realized, and it was an absorbing experience that was well done. I didn't want to spend $60 on it, but at $25 on Amazon it was a great grab.

  • Cheers to Walmart's Black Friday sales. $10 was too good of a deal to pass up for this game. The little I've played it was outstanding and it's something I'm looking forward to spending time with soon.

  • If I'm going to be at Walmart to get $10 games, then this was a no brainer. I started God of War a long time ago, then let a friend borrow it and it was gone for months. Then it looked like my daughter's homework when literally, "the dog ate it" since it was left somewhere that they could get to it. Getting both GoW and GoW2 for $10 was a steal.

  • My son and daughter love watching this game, which will probably drag me into playing it more, but it feels like a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing at this point. I'm early (about 2 hours in) but it seems like the pretty prom princess screaming, "Look at me! I'm BEAUTIFUL!" I know the combat deepens as the game goes on but it's so shallow right now. So shallow...
