If you like D&D based rpg's i can't recommend Divinity Original Sin 2 enough, and would like to give over hours and hours to a game its great. Other that you probably haven't missed much in the vain of big titles i am sure there is a lot of smaller stuff other people could recommend.

This build i believe will give you the best bang for your buck the 6100 leaves you with very little in the ways of upgrade path and 8400 although very good the mobo's are still expensive.

I will add to chorus that there is never a great time to build, but if you budget and plan your build you can put together a really good gaming 1080p gaming rig. I would recommend ryzen 3 1200 (if you have the budget i would step up to ryzen 5) on a good ATX b350 mobo, all ryzen cpu's overclock you can easily get 3.5=3.8 on the stock cooler. pair that with GTX 1060 6GB. but remember AMD also just announced new cpu's that will start showing up in February through April so they have cut the prices of all their current line of cpu's. Now faster ram does help but i am currently running 16GB of 2133 DDR4 with a ryzen 5 1500x on a asus prime b350 without issue and it runs everything just fine. As i always say buy and play the type of games you like.

I personally like EA always have and i think i always will, but i love Bioware (Edmonton). They have developed/published some of and my most beloved game(s) Mass Effect 2 is everything i love as human being in video game form, but i can admit to my bias i live in Edmonton where Bioware started i met the Doctors once at a lan party in the 90's. And maybe its my age (46) but i rarely find myself agreeing with the outrage and hate that spent on EA as company no matter what the cause is. So i try very hard to stay out of it.

For watching movies and netflix i bought a Sony HT-XT1 sound bar and absolutely love it (FYI I live in a apartment) and for console/PC gaming i use a gaming headset with a external DAC.

I really disliked it, all the time just spent sitting around spouting exposition about the same subjests over and over again was so frustrating, he wasn't the punisher he was the babysitter. I feel that the story they told could have been done in three episodes after ep 2 it just felt like each episode was there to fill time until the conclusion. The twist was as transparent as glass. And for love that is all good in the universe, we know his family is dead we don't need a flash back every three minutes reminding us, OMFG this was my biggest issue with the series if their intent was thinking people would be unaware of his motivations then they should have made the first episode a flash back to catch people up to the already established story line. But the constant flashing to his wife's memory just annoyed me.

my impressions are that valve gives zero fucks to what the console game market is or will be. And to be honest if it isn't directly in their bubble of control or profit they don't give zero fucks to game market in general. And as long as what they are doing continues to serve them they will just keep on keeping on.
