Bought a pre-owned PS3 to play Red Dead Redemption, so that's got most of my attention right now. Loving every minute of it, I can really tell why people say it's the best game of the previous console generation.

Other than that, I've kind of on and off been trying to finish Uncharted 4 and the new Doom. I love both of them a lot, but time constraints and different moods have left me playing both only in short bursts.

When I'm in a multiplayer mood without friends joining, I jump into Battlefield 1. Perhaps the only multiplayer game I find myself able to enjoy without friends. But when friends join, we mostly either play Overwatch or lately we started playing Minecraft again, which is a nice way to just chill out and talk while building up our new town.

Elite: Dangerous is my go-to game for when I'm listening to the Bombcast/Beastcast though.

I bought Overwatch on release, so that's a full 60€. And I've purchased 5 loot boxes just to see what it's like (it was crap). So I guess I've spent 65€ on Overwatch, which should make it the most I've ever spent on a game!

I'm not entirely sure if that's it though, because I bought the first Mirror's Edge retail, then on Steam for the convenience and then on Origin because it was the only way to get the DLC. Oh and yeah I bought the DLC as well. But I don't remember the prices of each of those. It might be more than 60€, but I just don't know.

Tea all the way!

I buy anything that I find interesting and I buy my tea by the pound. For the most part I just look at interesting flavours, but in the recent years I've started paying more attention to the different effects.

But in the end, there's one tea I always come back to. Peppermint tea, grown and dried by myself.

I guess as someone with very limited funds, I'm just really careful with buying games. I look up a lot of information on a game before making the purchase, so I haven't had any disappointments at all.

Or maybe I'm just easily impressed.

For the most part, when a game pops a wall of text at me, I don't bother reading it. Only sometimes when I'm really invested in the game.

Other than that, when it just makes sense for the game to give me lots of text, I'll obviously read it. Like the Ace Attorney series, love those games and love the story. And the game is pretty much all about reading.

Silent Hill, with the damn monsters crawling out from under cars with incredible speed.

Besides jumpscares though, Amnesia The Dark Descent was the first game that I was too scared to play purely because of how discomforting the whole atmosphere was.

I don't think it ruins games.

But what I do think is that games shouldn't really fill up the map with something just for the sake of having the map full of things to do.

There's a difference between pointless filler and meaningful content.

If there's nothing to put there, or if there's no reason to put something there, don't put it there!

Mafia 1 and Mafia 2 are great examples of fantastic linear-but-open-world games with no side content all over the map that still feel amazing to play through and the open world greatly helps with the immersion and overall feeling of the game.

I am absolutely certain I wouldn't have enjoyed those two games as much if they weren't open world, and I am also certain that throwing garbage all over the map wouldn't have made me enjoy them any more. Pretty sure having garbage across the map would have actually made me stop playing at some point because stuff like that tends to get overwhelming.

I am also one of those few people who didn't like Assassin's Creed 2, because of the very same "map filled with junk" thing. At the time, it was incredibly overwhelming and ultimately put me off the game. I'm sure that now, going back to the game, I would perhaps enjoy it a lot more after having played and enjoyed countless games that have done the same thing since, but coming from the first Assassin's Creed's fairly empty map and linear story and jumping into AC2's vomit map was a shock.

Yep, I thought it might be something to do with auto quality, but it's happening on any quality setting too. Seems to only do it a couple of times when I start a video and stops soon after though.
