A friend of mine who loves roguelikes was super excited to check out the series when I told him about it after I watched the first episode. He was sad that it was premium, but I linked him to the free month trial which he signed up for.
Gotta say that a 9 minute episode and a 4 minute episode after the first one was an hour are not leaving the greatest impression on him.
Clearly your friend doesn't understand YASD (Yet Another Stupid Death) then, which is core to the experience.
There's, in my opinion, a fairly clear format here. There's no way to achieve what you want without adding a level of deception to the proceedings, which would not be an improvement to the viewing experience.
I'll be very disappointed if they start to throw away episodes just to give us longer ones.
The purpose of the game is to get the Amulet of Yendor from within the depths of the Dungeon, and return to the surface using it's levitation ability. But the truth is more specific than that. The Amulet of Yendor begins appearing on the 26th floor of the Dungeon. One you get it, you must take the upward staircases to the top. The level you return to on the upward voyage recreate themselves, so if you previously explored a whole floor it will be different and unexplored on the way up. You will have to play at least 51 floors to beat the game.
53:00 You don't really have to sacrifice refresh rate with ultrawide displays. Most are at least 120Hz and something like the Samsung Odyssey C49G95T is 5120x1440 and 240Hz.
