*SPOILERS GALORE!* You have been warned

.

The dudes at Eidos Montreal must have played a lot of MGS4. Like a LOT of MGS4. After finishing Human Revolution, I was shocked and pleased at how close it comes to Kojima's darling. Lets take a look at some of the similarities between the two.

I call him... Jensnake
  • Stealth action gameplay with lots of optional shooting
  • Crazy conspiracies about giant computers that control people
  • Genetically-engineered protagonists
  • Box robots vs Cow robots
  • The Illuminati vs The Philosophers
  • One-on-one boss battles with cybernetic mercenaries
  • Cigarettes
  • Crazy robot appendages vs crazy octo-camo suits
  • Weapon upgrade systems
  • Computer whiz sidekicks (Otacon vs Pritchard)

Granted, there's till plenty of differences. MGS4 is chock-full of crazy Japanese craziness (final boss fight anyone?), where Deus Ex has more western sensibilities. However both are truly excellent and I hope they inspire even more games in that genre.

Edit: Let's not forget that one of the achievements references Foxhound.

It's using Origin.

These comments are hilarious. Can't wait to see half the people here playing BF3 when it comes out.

Man, you people are sick. Here I am, making a friendly thread with absolutely no ulterior motives whatsoever (especially concerning the title), and you have to go and put your perversions and NY asian boy prostitution rings all over the wall. I hope y'all proud of yourselves, cause I have just lost a lot of respect for this community.

FOR SHAME!

What's your favorite type of dressing to put on a salad? I'm partial to balsamic vinaigrette myself, though blue cheese is not bad either.

I got as far as the second sentence. From what I've read, the comments seem a lot more entertaining.

Well, Metroid Fusion didn't have that large overworld either, but it was praised anyway. And really, all Metroid games except the Prime ones are very small and short - with lots of replay value.

I'd say that, while smaller, Fusion's 2D areas were much better designed than the 3D areas of Other M. Your arguments are about the character of Samus however so I don't really know what else to say, other than it's just opinion, and mine is... it could've been better.

"Badass" characters with one-liners are just a stereotype that's secondary to the gameplay they're inserted into. Very few people play Gears because they loooove Marcus Fenix so much, they play it because it's a great 3rd person shooter.

Of course they do, but that wasn't really my point. My point was that there are too many characters like Mr. Fenix and then when someone like Samus from Other M appears, all the hate starts because she's portrayed as a sensitive, fenimine, and emotional character. Why do all characters have to be strong and look perfect?

The reason is because more people like great characters like Nathan Drake instead of shitty ones like the Samus from Other M. Supply and demand, man. Supply and demand.

Wait this game is out already? I remember back when they announced it like a year and a half ago.
