The issue is that "EA Access" kind of interferes any other digital stores unless they give up a lot of control to EA. I'm not surprise if Sony is a bit protective. I am not sure how "EA Access" would work at all with Steam or Gog or Amazon either. This would effectively mean no EA game could participate in "Super Themed Sale!" nor would the "digital discount" make sense because they are all digital purchases nor do these stores support staggered release dates.

In fact I've had questions about how this is going to work on Microsoft's store either beyond "it will work". I am wondering if it is just going to turn into an app that just side steps Microsoft's store...

In a way, since this is an Xbox One/console exclusive for now, they're kind of also leaving out potential subscribers who use Origin on the PC. I think doing this for Origin would've probably drove more people to get subs as well.

I had just assumed "EA Access" was available to PC on Origin....was I presumptuous? This is a serious "gap" if not. But that is an excellent point and Origin would be a great way to get subscribers and manage subscriptions.

Sure if they can get it to work technically and not change the "writing" too much. Right now it feels like the show is constrained by the tech and how much production time they can spend doing it.

Mists of Pandaria is the best content they've done yet with lots of experimental things. In fact I'm surprised there hasn't been far more disasters where it feels like the biggest mistake is revealing who the final fight was going to be with. It was fine to reveal "The Sha" but they should have left it as an open question which leader was being influenced by them until the last sets of updates.

I don't get the hate for Mako. It controlled fine. I miss how you felt small while making your way trough an alien landscape. Also it was nice that you could park Mako klicks away from the enemy base and just snipe the bastards from the safe distance.

It is easy to see why where Youtube is full of video of people having issues and and problems with the MAKO where some of it is their own doing while some of it is not. The basic issue is that those parts serve no purpose but to literally fill (or waste) the player's time. And there was conflict between the "environmental generator" and the way the handling worked where neither seem to mesh together.

So while it is great they want to bring this back, I still have to ask "What purpose does this have?" It turns out that this is a great analogy for the game on the whole because I would have to ask "What purpose does this new Mass Effect have?" If it turns out to be as empty or as vapid as "You get to drive around!" then I'll happily pass on it.

Guys, what if, and stay with me here, but what if it was a Mass Effect vehicle kart racer? The Mako, the Hammerhead, those other things. Think about it.

...I think they tried that in KOTOR.

Wait, "When Doves Cry" doesn't have bass. That reminds me of the moment I learned that "Solsbury Hill" was in 7/4 time.

edit: Man I can't believe how auto-correct can bork short, simple posts. Stealth fixing up.

The problem was the ANNOYING world design where the handling didn't help at all. But this is standard fair for old Bioware where they would bolt on some secondary "action" bits when it wasn't necessary. It boils down to either Bioware need to improve the design and purpose of having those MAKO sections or abandon it.

Is this a case of "Desperate Nintendo Is The Best Nintendo"?
