@Rehehelly: true enough, I have most of the hotkeys down cept for the later game stuff, I've been playing rts for years and a lot of WC3 so I know the basic mechanics :P We went through about 40 practice matches before deciding to go for placement and while the placement challenges were random we mostly matched our competitors, it was only when we got to bronze league that we went on a huge losing streak, getting killed in 4 minutes etc. I usually don't mind losing, I welcome the opportunity to watch a replay and learn from others but when you play a 4 minute game and have literally no chance at winning it defeats the purpose of having a skill based league or ever having a fun challenging game.
Anyways we started getting matches in where we were more matched to the opponents and there no easy wins or losses :P
@Osaladin: This, I learned some builds designed for rushing from huskeystarcraft and the others, it almost always guaranteed a win in practice, but the lack of blockages changes the game entirely making practice not so helpful in the end
@ryanwho: I know I'm not great, I got the idea because people here on Giant Bomb have stated they have done it, I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. The reason I believe it may have happened is because the people we are playing against are suddenly WAY out of our league.
