Mario Themed Wedding Card

So, I'm making a Super Mario themed wedding card for my friends who're getting married this weekend. They're kinda gamers and for their wedding shower, they both dressed up as Mario and Peach so I figured it'd be fun and different to make them a personalized card.

These are the designs I came up with. Any feedback on changes and which one I should go with? Currently I'm leaning towards the TV one w/out the reflection. If I do, I'll prolly cut it out in the shape of the TV (get rid of the white) and put it on a cut out stock paper on the back that can fold out so that it can stand on its own like a TV -_-;; Or I could sorta keep it more classy and crisp w/the other variants.

BTW, the scores are their respective birthdates -_-;;

Any design change suggestions will also be taken into consideration. I was thinking about maybe throwing the Mario 2 style curtains around it if I went w/the card instead of the TV. . . or some kind of a border. Iono.

If you're going for the TV then I say definitely non-reflective. If you are feeling extra ambitious you could have the card open to an interior view of the TV and fill it with Mario pipes and Koopas/Bowser.

that's not a bad idea. maybe have the pipes give directions on how to get there.

I think the design is great, but if you know any unmarried people that are way more into games, save the cards for them!

I like the video game text versions, looks more thematically similar. Looks awesome, I am also partial to the first one.

Yea, that's the one I was thinking of going with if I were gonna go standard type card. I thought maybe the oldschool number text for the Congrats was a bit too much, but the more I look at it, the better it seems. Also, I don't have many fonts and don't work with them much so I couldn't figure out what to do. At least I didn't use papyrus or comic sans =P

Your last version is fantastic.

I'd perhaps just not have it -as- pronounced with the CRT distortion effect. It looks fine now, but I think it being just a tad less curved would be best. The videogame text is also far superior to the cursive style. I think it looks great, and I'm sure they'll quite enjoy it. Of the many Wedding cards out there, this is one I'd definitely display if I got it.

Haha, thanks -_-;; I tried to keep it general enough that it wasn't specifically from me so that it wouldn't be like "From ME!" on the front somewhere. I get what you're saying about the distortion but I kid you not, when I used to play Mario back in the day on my shitty CRT, it literally looked like that =P Except not nearly as crisp. I threw in some scan lines but really, I think to make it look like it belongs on the TV, I need to desaturate it some and maybe add some more grain. It's funny because when I showed it to my lady, she asked me "why can't it be on an LCD?". I lol'ed.

That'd be pretty cool but the physical construction of it would be too much trouble to be worth it -_-;; Well. . . It might be worth it, but I'm not willing to devote that much time into something that'll sorta be seen, smiled at then put away somewhere or thrown away =P I was originally considering the front flap to be mario talking to toad and him saying Sorry but the princess is in a different castle and then having a variant of the current design on the inside. Alas, that sort of construction just isn't worth my time =(

It's lookin like it's just gonna be between the first and the last at this point. Sorta what I figured but I thought I'd throw in the script font anyway just to see if I was crazy =)
